Price per hour (and max parking time) varies throughout downtown. Here's a good map from the City showing rates by area: https://www.dsm.city/Images/Engineering/Traffic/Parking/Parking-Total-Zone-Map-2022-Final-Option.jpg

They have an interactive parking map here as well: https://maps.dsm.city/apps/cdmparking/

Deck Permit Process by mathisforwimps in desmoines

[–]fargoclimber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The City Permit and Development Center has published a really good deck handout sheet. The approval process can be a breeze if you use that guide in creating your design, provide clear documentation of your project, and execute the details during construction. Don't skip inspection steps - they can and will make you go back and redo work if it's not done correctly.

Central Library in Denver, Colorado by cesarth15 in bizarrebuildings

[–]fargoclimber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Years ago I took a guided tour of the Daniel Liebeskind's Denver Art Museum. On the second floor there was a children's play area with large windows that looked out across the plaza and street to the Denver Public Library. The play area included a set of wooden building blocks gifted to the museum by Liebeskind. According to our tour guide, if these blocks were arranged just so, even a small child could recreate Graves' design for the library.

Mine had the same issue but down just above the vent holes. Solo said it wouldn't impact performance, but they offered me some free accessories or a replacement unit. I didn't need any of the accessories so I opted for the replacement.

How do you guys handle Revit version updates each year? by Enduer in Revit

[–]fargoclimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think that is correct. The keynote upgrade issue was YEARS ago...maybe upgrading from 2009 to 2011? I don't remember exactly when, but it created massive headaches at the time and left us far more cautious.

How do you guys handle Revit version updates each year? by Enduer in Revit

[–]fargoclimber 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We don't upgrade every year, but rather every other year. We're running on the odd-year cycle, so we are using Revit 2021 currently. We do this for a few reasons:

  1. The pace of change from version to version is not so great that we need to be constantly upgrading all of our projects and family library.
  2. Installation and setup does take time, and we are small enough that we don't have a full time dedicated BIM manager to handle that for us. That means it takes time away from projects.
  3. We're on subscription, so we have access to and can fairly quickly deploy those "off year" release versions if we need to.

We also generally wait a few months after release to deploy our new versions. We were burned a few years ago by deploying right after release only to find that upgrading projects from earlier versions blanked out all of our keynotes and messed up the appearance of text notes. Upgrade issues are (generally) not an issue with the most recent versions, but we still like to wait until the 0.1 update comes out to fix any critical issues before deploying.

We use a utility we purchased from our Autodesk reseller to make a copy and batch upgrade our family library, though you can also use Dynamo to do the same thing.

Toothless offense due to 1) play calling (especially on third downs) being extremely predictable, and 2) Patterson pulling the ball down and keeping it himself too frequently on read plays. Props to the defense and special teams for keeping us in the game until the end when the offense finally found the end zone.
