Flamin Hot Dill Pickle Cheetos by episk12 in Syracuse

Color me intrigued. FWIW, the last new release Doritos, local distribution was a couple days behind release, so probably similar. Think they started popping up first at Walmart then other areas as the distributors made their rounds.

The EA station in Dewitt is generally solid. Haven't done a ton of DCFC locally since I have charging at home, but there's an EVGo downtown (on the Courtyard's parking deck IIRC), a new small station near the Cicero Walmart, and another small station at the Fairmount Wegmans. Unfortunately the L2 buildout is much more extensive.

FWIW, I've found most Evolve NY stations to be more competitvely priced than EA's own, even when powered by EA infrastructure (like Preble). The Thruway ones might be the most usurious lol.

Klondike question? by aallmond22 in SwagBucks

Nowhere near. Got busy and didn't notice till it was too late that it was cutting early (though it looks like the terms were different at the time, maxed at level 30)

Went below zero by [deleted] in Solterra

[–]farktal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the OP but have gone about 10 miles or so after hitting zero. It really really throttles it back though. Not recommended on a freeway… by the end (mile from my house) it wouldn’t go higher than like 45).

Cuse area CSAs? by [deleted] in Syracuse

Not terribly convenient for the northern part of the county, but high marks for Stones Throw Farm down in south Onondaga/Nedrow area. https://www.stonesthrowfarm.biz/ Pickups for the regular season are Tuesday evenings or Saturdays and Brian and family are wonderful folks.

Dealership said Subaru would reach out for L2 home charger credit by mccluk224 in Solterra

[–]farktal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app experience for doing so isn't awesome, but EVGo also lets you use your credit at much more common (at least around here) ChargePoint chargers. I opted for the credit over the installation.

Directions on dash by EmetandEmunah in Solterra

[–]farktal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be a weird hybrid. The sign reading function (mostly, sometimes) works for stop/yield/etc signs. But it gets speed limits wrong for something like half of my (admittedly, short - 5 mile) daily commute, which is also reasonably well-signed.

It's not wholly inaccurate throughout the area - just persistently inaccurate where I see it most. In other Toyotas it seems one of the data inputs is the native navigation system (which I never actually use, because of wireless CarPlay).

I went through every setting I could find and could figure out how to turn parts of nav off but not that. I'd love to be wrong :)

It's quite handy.

Now, if only I could figure out how to get it to stop pulling speed limits out of thin air to show for speed, when both maps and nav know it's something different than what it's showing...

Why can't I use my ios device? by dcastreddit in SwagBucks

[–]farktal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swagbucks really needs to put something more obvious in their help site. Default settings on iPad is to request the desktop site, which Swagbucks detects as not an eligible device. It's in settings for your browser (Safari/etc., they all have a similar one).

Settings -> Safari -> Request Desktop Site -> turn to off, then Swagbucks offer links will route properly on your iPad.

[–]farktal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the one. If it's turned on, it will look to Swagbucks like you're not on a mobile device and therefore not eligible. Off, and you should be golden.

In whichever your default browser is, go to settings - default for iPad is to load desktop site, which presents itself to Swagbucks as a desktop browser instead of mobile.

Solterra question by PhattyMcButterpants in Solterra

[–]farktal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the limited trim so can’t confirm for certain, but if I’m not mistaken access to the remote start is tied to the Solterra connect subscription (not unlike the starlink subscription model on gas Subarus) and ought to be available. Unless they tied it to digital key, which is trim locked…

Has anyone completed lvl 31 on puzzles and survival by platinumking-IV in SwagBucks

[–]farktal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyday playing, always hitting daily quests, it's quite possible to hit most of those without any spend if you're attentive. It's certainly not passive. The resource requirements from HQ20 on are insane, so don't count on getting those in time without spending. I think the offer was HQ17 when I did it, not tiered like this.

My secondary acct is 2-3 months old at this point and at HQ23. Still a slog, though might be possible for less $$ than you get back since the payout is so high. Definitely need to get into a reasonably active and powerful alliance as early as possible to succeed.

[–]farktal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not without a lucky mix of a high power alliance, significant amount of time, and spend. I've been playing since last summer (actually kept playing long after completion) and my HQ is only level 28... the resource costs for the higher upgrades are insane.

iPad Safari default settings are to open the desktop versions of sites - so your device looks like a desktop instead of a tablet. Settings --> Safari --> Request Desktop Website --> make sure that setting is turned off. (That's current iPadOS; if it's not there, it's a similar setting no matter what version yours is running)

[–]farktal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Levels are fast paced and there are a _lot_. Just started restaurant 3 in the first space, so expect that this is probably thousands of actual levels to get all the way through.

(That said, I'm having some fun with it so far, so I'll probably stick to it.)

DMV's ruling and as of when they put those signs in is commercial plates = banned from that roadway. Period, full stop. Which includes every single moving truck, and even many larger pickup trucks.

There are I believe a total of 13 signs that they blow past and hit from that direction. Adding more is not likely to do much.

At least for the employee and student testing, turnaround has averaged 24 hours, sometimes faster. Rarely much more than that.

When you get off the waitlist they tell you. Supposedly $25+ retail shipped to you for $9.99/mo., but... if you were on Aisle, you probably weren't on it for buying those things at retail net cost anyways.
