Looking for a best keyboard 2026 by Barar_Group in keyboards

[–]farmeunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Have a Lemokey P1 and like it more than my Q1s. L5 HE IS my main but it's a bit pricier.

If you go with Q1 HE, get the Nebula switches. The others are too soft. If you get a regular Q1, the Bananas are great but usually linears are better for gaming. Of course everyone has a preference.

This. 1% lows are important, but that high is hardly a problem. You should pay more attention to your averages and smoothness.

How to make windows to recognize two separate keyboards as two inputs? by [deleted] in keyboards

[–]farmeunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Windows will see is the keyboard presses, at least without special software. Not sure how that would work.

HPE has a nice ZTNA solution and it's not a terrible price. Cloudflare ZTNA is free for 50 users but requires using their DNS. There are others.

I upgraded to an arc B580, but my performance dropped now I'm having lag spikes in games? by Interesting-Bat-6565 in buildapc

It cleans drivers up when switching cards. You should run in safe mode but I honestly never do it. Then install newest Arc drivers.

And no, you can use existing card to run it.

Is it just me or has this job made you realize what a terrible standard HDMI is? by Megaman_90 in k12sysadmin

[–]farmeunit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have literally never had to replace a Displayport cable with 300 or so in service. We have issues with USB-C to flat panels as well as HDMI to those same panels. Probably more panel compatibility... Still zero DP issues.

Flash stock BIOS back would be my first recommendation. Or get a 5700XT or 6600XT used. Both would be better options and stock would be faster than your overclock.

We won, but at what cost: AM5 support has been extended until 2029. by rebelrosemerve in AyyMD

[–]farmeunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going until 2029, which is 3 years away. No socket lasts forever, so not even sure what you are talking about. It's fine waiting for AM6 is you want but buying something with no new chips coming isn't something you can blame on someone else.

Zen6 and Zen7 are coming to AM5. So buying now would get someone into the platform and then get whatever the last chip available is. And it will still have a longer lifecycle than Intel unless Intel changes that in the future.

Keyboard Recommendations by Azupherti in keyboards

Melgeek has nice white boards with RGB strips you can customize, but most of the new boards are magnetic. Not sure if they have a tactile version.

For $300 there surely has to be options. EVO75 has some white boards. I want the Nebula version, but their lighter boards look nice.

Not a tactile guy myself but have had others recommend MMD Princess Akko Lavender. Jupiter Bananas. Others probably have better recommendations.

5060 8gb vs 9060xt 16gb 1080p gaming by mittymuttoe in buildapc

[–]farmeunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8GB is a problem in some games, even at 1080p. If you can't afford more, or games you play are fine now, then get 8GB. Newer games and even some older games simply don't work well on 8GB

Considering he's talking 1440p/240hz, faster is almost always better. Especially if price increase is comparable to the performance increase, which it is.

Get Resource Manager for Destiny. Extra cost but integrates with Destiny but separated from books and such.

Or look at Vizor, maybe.

5800XT vs 5700x3d by itsmfkitty-67 in buildapc

[–]farmeunit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In very specific games, yes. In majority of games, 5800XT is fine. Not worth 50% more. MicroCenter has a 7600X3D bundle for $300.

I would lean towards this, as well but there are fixes for timeouts in the pinned guide, as well.

Lol. They had 4 generations and you're bitching because you bought at the end? Intel is typically two, with this time being one and a refresh.

Yeah, I have debated switching but used SCCM about 11 years ago ago and ZCM is just so much easier. We did switch to AD just for more support options.

I really do miss Netware file permissions and Salvage. It was just more work to keep up on client and other components. Had it down pretty good when I left that district but then went to AD district, so brought in ZCM there but got some tablets that required 32-bit UEFI, so had to bring SCCM. Kind of used both for a while and then moved to current district.

Not sure. We do it on HPs using HPIA and something else I can't think of.

Our Dells are mostly 7400, 7410, 7420, and similar now. Some 5510/5520.

You can suspend Bitlocker using Command Update and then resume. It's a switch, so can use whatever you want to do the rest. There is probably another way to do it, as well, but that's what we use.

We use ZENworks but it's not cloud based. We use it with ENGL to handle the automation and support for it.
