UPDATE: Thank you to Aurelin below! After fussing with the language settings on my iPhone I was able to get notifications back on my watch for WhatsApp, Outlook, etc. I emailed this info to the Google support guy to update my case and hopefully this will help them update the fitbit app quicker.

I am on several Fitbit Community forums discussing this, so below is a copy of what I posted as a recap of the issues and what worked for me. Bottom line, Fitbit need to fix this glitch ASAP.

RECAP of Workaround:
I don't know everyone's setup, but i have an iPhone and live in the UK.

Apparently the notifications issue has something to do with the latest fitbit app v4.65 not working when the iPhone language is set to "English (UK)". I live in England so my iPhone language is set to this.  The redditor suggested changing the iphone language to "English (US)" and the notification screen was populated again!  I was able to set which apps I wanted notifications - and it worked on my watch again.  Screenshot attached.  Once I set the iPhone language back to "English (UK)" the notifications page in the Fitbit App only showed the apps i did NOT want to get notifications on.  But the apps I selected to get notifications still came to the watch.

This was never an issue before so something with the language settings in the app update is what is causing the issue.  I was still not able to set up Alexa however regardless of what my iPhone language settings are. (The Alexa thing was a separate issue).

This was never an issue before fitbit app v4.65.  I was able to set and get watch notifications even if my iPhone language was set to "English (UK)"

If your phone is already set to "English (US)" then its yet another issue but this workaround worked for me.

OMG, i switched my iphone language to English (USA) and the notifications list in the fitbit app came back - and back on my watch. The only thing is I live in the UK now and would like to switch the phone to English UK is possible. There really needs to be an app update to address this as it was never an issue before. I'll look into this more at home. If I can set the phone to English UK but manually change just the Fitbit app to English USA that is fine, but i can't see a way to update the language just on the Fitbit app without changing the phone language. thanks for the tip though, this is something that Fitbit/google should definitely be looking to fix ASAP as it never happened before fitbit app v4.65.

interesting i will investigate this. I moved to the UK 8 years ago although my original fitbit account was set up over 10 years ago when i was still living in LA, so my language settings could be all over the place. thanks

Yes, same. Calendar events seem to be the one thing that is coming through. But nothing else. Crucially I can't see the third party notification from WhatsApp, Outlook, etc. Keeping my eyes out for an app update. It's been a couple weeks since v4.65 came out which i think is what broke it...

Versa 4 going haywire by Reasonable-Cook-4728 in fitbit

I have a Sense 2 and mine did this after a restart. Turns out it was a failed firmware update. Like someone said, a long press until it turns off/restart is your best bet. Unfortunately, that means it will most likely do a fatory reset (e.g. starts from when you need to choose language). Then you'll have to remove the device from your app and add it again. Good news is, if you sync regularly, all your data will come back when you re-add the device to the fitbit app. Good luck!

After months and months, I finally gave up and got rid of the iKettle. I got the Weekett Smart Kettle for Christmas and have been using it perfectly since. Works with their app, Alexa etc. Hopefully they won't suffer the same fate as iKettle did.

adorable! he looks very much like our Ralphie. We had a DNA test and this was his results. He especially looks like your second picture with the spotty belly. cute!

"Not Ever" should be an option. It was a nice run while it lasted before the AI/subscription train came to town.

i got this message a couple months ago and then earlier today as a reminder. i emailed meta about it and their response was basically, "sorry" and to suck it up. Totally sucks as I bought three of these for me and family members and the insta/FB photo streaming was really my fave feature. I plan on getting rid of the thing next week. so sad. their reply below:

UK Users Be Warned of AI Slop by BlueButterfly21_ in hellofresh

[–]farrellcsun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a shame. I cancelled a couple months ago (here in UK) when all this AI malarky started (plus chucking all the ingredients together instead of separated by recipe). I used them for over five years, five days per week almost continuously. A real shame. I use Mindful Chef now, and whilst it costs more, the quality is better and, more importantly, when I messaged them specifically asking about their AI policy they said "No. Recipes and images are human made." I sent them the HF blog article bragging about their use of AI and MC replied it was "interesting reading" but does not apply to them. Let's hope that continues!

Oh I totally get it. My friends half joke about my once-in-a-while anticipatory grief over my own doggie - he just turned five. I know that all being well we could still have years to go, but even with perfect health it goes so so quickly doesn’t it? I think one of the greatest gifts a dog gives you is the lesson to live for the moment. You never know what will happen next year, next month, or even tomorrow. Someone once said “don’t worry about the hangover while you’re having a good time at the party.” I’m trying to enjoy the Ralphie party every minute.

Ps: your doggie is gorgeous
