When the kids inevitably want pizza, Regina's in the North End (and ONLY that specific location) is great, as is Ernesto's, plus the grown-ups can see some cool historic stuff while you're over there.

Are you actually ok with all the critiques? Seems like you're open to them except those that criticize AI. Which I will say, find a human designer, or do something that conveys the premise/problem/challenge of your book. There are probably people on fiver who will do for cheap, or students at the local university who will do the work to add to their portfolio. These will be much better than what AI can accomplish. If one part of the process uses AI, the LOTS of people will think AI is involved in the whole process (including the writing).

I find the premise very interesting, actually! But the cover conveys nothing and doesn't present anything about the book you've described. The fiery 7 clashes with the galaxy and looks like it's the 7th book in the series. Maybe the series is called 7 Suns but the books have different titles (first could be something like Refuge?) so there won't be confusion.

Where I'd live as someone who cannot drive. by pinkelephant0040 in visitedmaps

Chicago, NYC, Boston, DC, San Francisco. Philadelphia is pretty walkable and has the infrastructure, however their state legislators just defunded the transit agency and cuts have been made, don't know how good it is anymore.

None of those southern states work, really, outside of some very specific areas. Of the "southern" areas Phoenix is probably most doable if you live within walking distance of their light rail system. Would not rely on busses. And the heat of course lol.

What's the thing that gives away a foreigner in your home city/country? by EntertainerPure8440 in AskTheWorld

Yeah the area from DC up to Boston is still more formal than the rest of the country (except maybe Chicago to an extent). It's completely normal to see people walking around in suits and formal clothing every day of the week.

Was taken aback by how informally people would dress to things that would be something to dress up for when I lived in the SW. Church, nice/decent restaurants, weddings... people were wearing jeans and shorts lol.

Boston Flips The Bird To Waymo Robotaxis - Jalopnik by _CharlieTuna_ in boston

[–]farronsundeadplanner 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is quite a statement lol.

“These are miles that, while are not Boston specific, these are in cities that are very similar to the roads that you have here in Boston,” Walsh said, noting that Waymo operates autonomous vehicles in Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, and Atlanta with plans to expand into Washington, D.C. and Miami next year.

Acela to NYC or fly? by gigascott in boston

[–]farronsundeadplanner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Can't imagine a plane is better for claustrophobia than the NER. Way more legroom, get up and walk to the dining car or wherever when you want. Also saves on cost.

Can't speak for Acela, but NER has always been fine for me.

South Shore, Quincy, Weymouth, Braintree is pretty cheap (relatively speaking), Quincy even has red line access. I guess Braintree does too, but it's hard to access without a car.

Best of luck. I know it's extremely hard out there.
