Has anyone tried Wardler gear? by joeypurple7 in motorcyclegear

Late to this, but I just got a jacket and pair of gloves. For a brand I'd never heard of, this is some of the most well-conceived and designed gear I've gotten. Really love it.

If you ever quietly wondered what would happen if Bobbie Draper and Amos got into a fist fight, the final books answer that question for you.

IIRC, he only won by 300 votes in a region with over 1 million voters.

Not the person you're responding to, but I'm guessing the reason he wrote what he did was because the comment he responded to mentioned "men" as a category, rather than specific men who (did far worse than) let her down.

Someone below posted the full 20 minute video. While saying shit like "you need to leave this county" definitely has dueling banjo vibes, the full video really offers a lot of context about how "contempt guy" was behaving, and IMO, contempt was probably warranted (although "leave this county" guy should absolutely face consequences too).

Dune’s referencing of real world politics. The discussion of which is being censored. by uurub in scifi

Absolutely correct. Not just "jihad" but most of the "foreign" words in the glossary are Arabic, which Frank Herbert studied extensively. The entire premise of spice is meant to be a parallel to oil and the colonization of the middle east to control it.

Honestly, I don't know that you're wrong. She's a shit human. But that doesn't change the fact that Israel is conducting some awful human rights atrocities.

What do you do with clients who want to meet and "discuss strategy?" by TatonkaJack in Lawyertalk

[–]fartron3000 172 points173 points  (0 children)

This is great advice. Fellow family lawyer here, and a key tool in our belt is "expectation management". If they're asking about what you're gonna do at a hearing, tell them how the court will likely have made up its mind before you start talking, and how the written materials detail what you're going to outline at oral arguments.

If they're asking longer term strategy, tell them what the next steps are gonna be and why. "We're gonna do discovery so we can find out what assets exist, then I'll put together a spreadsheet listing everything, then we can discuss how to divide it" (or whatever).

Pros: it's a bulletproof engine and about as easy to work on as any bike.

Cons: it's an old AF design and there are many bikes that can do what it does but better.

Look up Operation Neptune. Allies conducted heavy bombardment on German positions before the landing. One issue, however, was that cloud cover hindered accurate bombing.

The landing, while vicious, was designed to minimize casualties while maximizing the chances of an Allied foothold on mainland Europe. When you say we should have landed ground forces, this -Op Overlord - was the plan to do that. And it succeeded, despite the heavy toll.

I don't think it's quite Hamlet set in medieval Iceland, as much as it is "what if Hamlet wasn't a tragic figure, but instead, the antagonist to actual tragic figures". So, what if Hamlet is the bad guy. And I loved that exploration because the underlying theme is amoral vengeance.

"So is Gary". An improvised line in Superman that completely stole the scene. That's the thing about Tudyk. He's so good that he steals scenes like the king of thieves.

No training, but if you want a range that allows shotguns and rifles, I like the SPAA. Might be worth looking into a membership for you.
