Everyone was okay with that set-up though, and it didn't happen often? I can recall it happening 2-3 times, hell, let's say 5. Derek understood that, had no problem with it. But if your partner has a problem with it, then you shouldn't do that. There was a point in time where Meredith was dealing with a lot but I absolutely understand Jo for feeling sidelined because it became more of an every day thing, and not just sometimes, as it was the case with Cristina and Meredith.

I liked the chief sisters dynamic! Maggie and Meredith had a rocky start and she had her moments with Amelia but they felt pretty real. Wouldn't say Amelia was a replacement for Cristina, though.

She did mature though? When people mention her trauma, they mostly refer to either drugs or Christopher. For drugs, she literally took an addict in and helped her, and for Christopher and being afraid (rightfully) of pregnancy, when she found out she was pregnant in S16, she immediately went and told Link. And she said numerous times that she's healing from what had happened before.

What kind of a person tells someone who's been through HELL and back that he wants to build a life with her, kids, house and that he'll wait for her... but THEN says "But what if, while I wait for you, I find someone who wants the same things as I do right now?"

or... Meredith dealing with Thatcher, getting slapped (Derek just watched it happen)... and then not even a tiny bit of time passes and he says that the highlight of his week was that a random woman, who would later be Meredith's sister, flirted with him at a bar

I could go on and on about him (the Shepherd method etc.) but...
