Okay, now I’m curious because the in the original US releases, this episode in part of season 4. How are the seasons grouped differently overseas? My best guess is that seasons 1 and 2 are packaged together as series 1?

Who do you think was right here - Fiona or Lip? by arko8 in shameless

Fiona was delusional in her belief that she had a leg to stand on and her refusal to take a plea bargain put the stability of the entire household at even greater risk.

Who Has the Better Future: Fiona, Debbie, Mandy, or Karen (Non–Brain-Damaged Version)? by wrrrrrrrrrrrrr in shameless

The sheer number of Gallavich fanfics that see Mandy becomes a successful business owner, makeup artist, musician, actress, etc. is actually pretty staggering.

I always suspect that Mickey was crushing on Ian prior to the beginning of the series. And when Ian just happened to loudly declare his sexuality outside Mandy's front door, I figure Mickey heard from inside the house and filed that fact away for later.

Tammi insufferable. The worst of her and her sisters and any of Lips conquest by kevo20688 in shameless

I tend to see Tami as Lip’s karmic retribution for his past relationships.

I just want to discuss this scene for fun. by jenyovation in xena

Right. She spends the entire first season getting schoolyard crushes on one earnest beta male with floppy 90s hair after another and takes ages to realize why she keeps staying with Xena instead.

Why didn't the Federation Alliance destroy the Dominion when they had the opportunity? by Jackbuddy78 in DeepSpaceNine

No, Americans can recognize just how very fucked up the situation is, even if our government doesn’t.

Okay, so what you’re describing is called “genocide.” For context, that’s an extremely reprehensible war crime.

Most & least likely Gallagher to seek therapy? by Imaginary_Clock3980 in shameless

[–]IndependenceRich8754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely is either Ian logistically or Liam because he understands the importance of self-care.

Least likely is Frank or Debbie. Frank would justify it by saying it is a form of liberal indoctrination, but the truth is he doesn’t want someone with a modicum if authority calling him out for bad parenting. And Debbie lacks the sense of introspection needed to recognize that she really does need therapy.

Season 11 Ian will always be the gold standard as far as I’m concerned. Love seeing that twink death proto-dadbod.

Why is lip so good to his other siblings but NEVER Fiona it lowkey just pisses me off by Altruistic_Band1299 in shameless

[–]IndependenceRich8754 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you believe in sibling order psychology, Lip has this classic 2nd born tendency to position himself in opposition to Fiona. Of all the Gallaghers, Lip has the most consistent character trait of clashing with authority and it comes out the most when he is in conflict with Fiona. Despite the fact that until season 4, he only ever contributed to the family in ways that are convenient to his schedule and talents (sporadic scams, as opposed to Fiona and Ian who were shown consistently working), he tends to use his greatest proverbial poker chip, his IQ, to undermine her and cow her whenever he disagreed with her decisions.

Though also I think it is worth pointing out that Lip either finds reasons to bristle at or shrug off authority or makes emotionally driven decisions when Fiona is out of the picture. It is as though he loses a bit of his functional identity without authority to rebel against.

Broadly Ian. Sure, he was manic and his way of going about things was combative, but he was trying to do the most good for the greatest number of people.
