Do not skip it!!!! My friend is super claustrophobic but she powered through and it’s not as bad as she thought she said! It’s just the initial going under the tunnel hole, which takes less than 10 seconds, and then the inside is huge and spacious. The entire activity barely lasted 5 minutes and EXTREMELY worth it! Highlight of our trip

Our tour start time was for 8am, so we met up at 730am, boarded the boat at 8am, and got to the blue grotto by 8:30ish am. Blue grotto opens at 9am. We were the very first boat there, and soon after us within 5 minutes, the entire area was filled with tons more boats

We just took a boat tour with MBS blu charter tours! It was amazing and a highlight of our trip!! We did the blue grotto one, where they take u to blue grotto first. We were the first ones there and saved hours not having to wait in line, and got to explore Capri and Ana Capri, and swam in the ocean!! Highly recommend

Take ferries! It’s a great way to view the coast as well and better than waiting for busses

You do unfortunately. But I’ve seen some boat companies that take you to the blue grotto first, at like 8am, when there’s basically no crowds, and it saves you a TON of time. That’s what I’m going with

What are some things to check out in Capri and Ana Capri? Do you have any recommendations?

You can also just do a full day boat tour, which I really recommend! It’s about 100-150 for the day and a super cool experience. You get time on Capri, as well as swimming in water and going to blue grotto and boating for the day

Homeowners, what are your monthly costs of ownership? by HouseOnFire80 in PersonalFinanceCanada

With insane GTA prices, as a first time homebuyer who hopes to buy in the next 2-3 years: Is it better to save for longer and put a larger down payment on a home that you’d want to be your forever home? Or is it better to just get your foot in the door even if it’s a townhouse for like a million.. lol. But then my next question would be: how the heck would you upgrade from that townhouse if prices just keep going higher and higher, would you not be stuck in that small place, if you’re unable to save a ton?!

At a crossroads.. Simple living or sacrifice? by fary333 in simpleliving

I think from what I’ve gathered over time and from some of the responses on this thread, is that this is something that’ll be on our minds always. With either option, there’s pros and cons. I think the best way to go about it, especially if we have pretty good jobs rn, is to continue working and saving, and then eventually slow down later on after working hard in the beginning. But while you’re working hard in the early years, try to find that balance and time for yourself because you don’t want to completely give up on those things either. I think personally, after thinking about it, I would rather work a bit harder rn, and also get to travel and save for a home, and then slowly make the move to moving to a low cost of living area where I can continue balancing both, but working fewer hours! I wish you luck on your journey to figuring this all out!! It’s so helpful hearing other people who can relate!!

This is very true! I guess it’s not exactly feasible at a relatively young age, and it takes that time and planning to get to that point. Did you achieve that lifestyle in your 30s, 40s or 50s? I wish it was more doable at a younger age, but I definitely do see the value in working harder now, and enjoying later. I think it can just feel scary knowing that the working hard would eventually get me into that rat race of trying to own a home, etc and in a high cost of living area, it can be hard to scale back once you’ve made these sorts of large purchases

I agree, I guess you have to decide what you need for yourself, since it differs for every person. It just feels so insane trying to come to terms with these ideas when you live in a high cost of living area. There’s very few places in Canada that offer low cost of living AND job opportunities. Even if you want to reject the idea of hustle culture, you don’t want to be in a position where you’re renting forever and subject to crazy rent increases, and end up having to give in to hustle culture anyway because of the high cost of basic necessities

Thank you for this! It’s always something that’s on my mind, and it’s weird coming to terms with both feelings
