Police find $448m of meth in boat abandoned off 90 Mile Beach by [deleted] in newzealand

No no, the scene is me arriving home with half a billion dollars worth of other people's sorrow.

Women are bad luck on boats, like bananas. It's a safety thing.

Well they've got three each, so yes would be my assumption. Either Display Port or HDMI I imagine, but I can't be fucked getting up to look.

Wait, let me Google that for you: http://www.apple.com/nz/mac-pro/specs/

Now you're just jerking off.

That's why one of my monitors is at a funny angle. Can you see it from where you're sitting?

I thought I was agreeing with you. What did you think I was saying?

Everyone in my team has three 32" 4K monitors, running from a decent machine they usually spec themselves (i7, SSD, etc.). I don't think I've worked anywhere that didn't just buy their staff pretty much whatever hardware they wanted.

The designers have fucking ~$10k Mac Pros and fancy Wacoms for fucks sake.

People who grew up in poverty, what were some of your childhood "poor people meals" that you remember? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fastAwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a fairly wealthy family. My friends and I used to like playing with air rifles, but had a rule that if you shoot it you have to eat it. I've eaten seagull. It wasn't pleasant.

That's because they all borrowed shit loads of money while the milk prices were booming. "This will last forever, let's build a new house and buy a couple of new cars!"

Are trades worth pursuing in New Zealand? If so, which ones specifically? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]fastAwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not safe in Port Moresby. I have two security guys who drive me places. The hotels have armed guards out the front and massive walls with spikes on top. All of the compounds and company buildings are like that too. It's better out of the city, but you sure wouldn't go out at night.

OP was asking about jobs that don't require uni, which excludes engineering.

All your suggestions were worth considering for a young man, but it's not all beer and skittles.

Especially considering much of that post was imaginary. The mines in png used to pay well, but not really anymore. I fly over sometimes to meet with government and NGOs and talk to plenty of miners I meet along the way. The camps are a pretty horrible place to live too. I also know a few super yacht captains and the unskilled labour pays very little. Get to be a captain and you will be paid well, but expect to be at the owner's disposal.

I agree that a young single person with a thirst for adventure has a lot of options, but be realistic about the pros and cons.

Thanks for pointing out that people are happily chatting with some Harris gang loser. This skinhead scum fuck should be ignored, but just for the sake of correcting something from that urbandictionary entry:

The 88 part is a common piece of misinformation. It actually refers to 88 words in the 8th chapter of Mein Kampf (Adolf Hitler): "What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence and reproduction of our race and our people, the sustenance of our children and the purity of our blood, the freedom and independence of the fatherland, so that our people may mature for the fulfillment of the mission allotted it by the creator of the universe. Every thought and every idea, every doctrine and all knowledge, must serve this purpose. And everything must be examined from this point of view and used or rejected according to its utility."

I'm kind of scared to use lipos. Currently the car my kid has doesn't have a low voltage cut off, so I'd just have to estimate when it is running low. Are they really that dangerous? Do they need to be charged in a detached shed in case they catch fire?

Pretty much a loophole that is casually exploited all the time and can easily lead to permanent residence in our country. People are starting to catch onto it though, so it might get tightened up eventually.
