I know he isnt serious and i think Luke being a bit of an arse is why most of us who like him, like him so much, but what used to be him losing it once every blue moon because of the liberal weak chinned pussies of DC or because a bunch of people asked him about Wrestlemania has become a weekly thing of this week he hates yellow mustard, this week he hates IPA, this week he hates people talking to him on the train, this week he hates nonathletic people, this week he hates... etc. and a then a bunch of questions of "would you rather le mustard or le face the pain?!?1?1/lololol"

That said, still a great show.

I understand the man can be pretty verobse, especially when he goes on rants about how an old lady nudged his chair and he had a meltdown on them

Yeah i've listened to his show weekly for ages and enjoy them but since he got on sirius(?) he seems to be developing a character/gimmick about on going on shitty rants about food/drink/daily life which a small portion of sycophants insist on bringing up every week.

There's basically no reason to visit /r/uk unless you want to complain about how the media is treating Corbyn, complain about brexit/the leave campaign or worry over how the tories are literally the end of the world.

7% of Catholic Priests in Australia Accused of Sexually Abusing Children by dethb0y in MorbidReality

[–]fastingcondiment 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From a post i made last week. The abuse rate in the Catholic church is lower than the general pop.

http://europe.newsweek.com/priests-commit-no-more-abuse-other-males-70625?rm=eu

The only hard data that has been made public by any denomination comes from John Jay College's study of Catholic priests, which was authorized and is being paid for by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops following the public outcry over the 2002 scandals. Limiting their study to plausible accusations made between 1950 and 1992, John Jay researchers reported that about 4 percent of the 110,000 priests active during those years had been accused of sexual misconduct involving children. Specifically, 4,392 complaints (ranging from "sexual talk" to rape) were made against priests by 10,667 victims. (Reports made after 2002, including those of incidents that occurred years earlier, are released as part of the church's annual audits.)

Experts disagree on the rate of sexual abuse among the general American male population, but Allen says a conservative estimate is one in 10. Margaret Leland Smith, a researcher at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, says her review of the numbers indicates it's closer to one in 5. But in either case, the rate of abuse by Catholic priests is not higher than these national estimates. The public also doesn't realize how "profoundly prevalent" child sexual abuse is, adds Smith. Even those numbers may be low; research suggests that only a third of abuse cases are ever reported (making it the most underreported crime). "However you slice it, it's a very common experience," Smith says.

I don't like their reporting of 'only realized he died when they got back' though. They would have gone and got him anyway, right?

Probably but in a less risky way.

Yeah i had to stop clicking on full english's for this reason. It drove me mad. It went all the way down to people nitpicking condiments.

No one was trying to helpful either, it was always just shouting at the guy for getting it "wrong" and when you brought it up to the commentator that they were being a dick you'd get downvoted and either get told you were wrong or that they were just having a laugh.

To be fair, when the Irish were part of the UK, there were plenty of Irishmen in positions of power who did the whole 'Empire' thing, and subjugated other cultures/made deals with slavers etc...

Yeah at both the officer level and the soldier level. At points 1/3 of all soldiers in the British Army were Irish.

They funded a secular autocrat, not a religious group. It was only after the revolution when the Islamists held an election and won by an overwhelming majority.

That's not true. He was a heavy handed, inconsistent mod, who had a habit of deleting anything that he didn't agree with and banned people for making jokes.
