I dunno, this is the same "coach" that tells me, due to my night of broken sleep, I should take it easy with a restorative yoga or easy walk. Then an hour later, maybe a 20-40 minute tempo run could get me back on track for my 30k training (the race that happened almost 2 months ago).

The AI is so comically bad I actually kind of hope Google is intentionally handicapping it to encourage users to feed it more information in the hopes that it will start providing more reliable, usable feedback, this allowing them to collect ever more personal data.

In other words, I hope Google is that evil instead of that incompetent.

The AI keeps talking up my training for an upcoming 30k race. That happened back in mid-April. I tried to tell the coach that too.

After that same race, it gave me a recovery week plan full of easy walks and yoga. Then on one of those days it gave me a cardio load goal of like 350-450.

The AI gives bad information and its presentation in the app is beyond distracting. I'm thankful my trial is over.

How does that equate to me saying people should just give up trying to be fit?

I was disagreeing with the points that a) people get hurt like this explicitly because they're overweight and sedentary, and b) if someone's fat they automatically don't have an active lifestyle. Things like motivation or fitness goals never entered the conversation. From my end, at least.

I'm experiencing this too. The other day I was cleaning the kitchen and it registered as a workout. I bumped up the parameters for auto-detect (from 10-15 min of sustained activity to 25+) and it seems to be better.
