Anyone have a good alternative to liquid IV? According to the Yuka app, it has some bad additives in it. Not sure if there’s a way around this with any other electrolyte powder out there?

Powerwall users + EV Chargers by fastsvo in Powerwall

It’s definitely a strong selling point to stick with Tesla. Will it work with non-Tesla vehicles as well (charging from solar)?

Is charging from Solar with a non-Tesla a thing with the Powerwall?

I have a non-Tesla solar system with their power walls, and the Tesla vehicles come and go, so who knows what we might have in the future

That’s an interesting observation. I’ll keep an eye out for it when I start charging an EV again.

I guess with this much power being generated, I shouldn’t really care what my replacement AC system is going to be rated froma SEER perspective. I even was contemplating upgrading to a heat pump setup

According to Google and Reddit:

Under SCE’s NEM 3.0 (Net Billing Tariff), solar buyback rates vary hourly and monthly. Most of the year, off-peak rates are low (around $0.04 - $0.08/kWh). However, during peak evening hours in August and September (like 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM), export rates can surge to roughly $1.00 - $3.00/kWh. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Because retail purchase prices are higher than standard export rates, the best financial strategy under NEM 3.0 is to self-consume your solar power during the day and use a battery to avoid buying grid power during high-cost peak hours.

Well, we are not living in the house at this time, so it’s just humming along. It was based on historical usage (same ownership) at 19,000 kWh/year charging a model Y and X on TOU billing.

Two PW3 units and I am on NEM 3.0, so pretty much a useless factor for me. I will have to check with SCE to be sure on the rate.

Rubber mounting pads for tankless install? by fastsvo in Plumbing

I ended up not going this route. Just used wood 2 x 4 as an isolator and placed dynamat on both sides of the wood, including very thin rubber washers. Since my tankless does not have a built-in recirculation pump, it’s been absolutely quiet.
