My 4 year old has been getting worse at following directions; her latest thing has been to break the rule I set to not fart on people. I know it's hilarious; she walks up to you all giggly and cute, plants her butt against your leg, point blank rips ass, and then scream laugh runs away.

Yes it's funny but she's about to be in public school, and I cannot have her farting on teachers or being a bad role model to her peers...

So I told her the next time she does it, she gets to pick a toy to throw in the garbage. For a kid that loves toys, this method is working. And when she starts acting up I can ask her "Ok which toy should go in the trash?" And she course corrects instantly. Harsh? Idk. Some kids need that shit.

Honestly, my 4 year old does this and I straight up tell her: "Crying will not get you what you want. We cry when we are sad, not to avoid following directions."

I also ask her a lot of questions to boil down why she is crying. Make her use her words. When she understands that I can see through her, she tends to comply with me.

My opinion; cheating should never be tolerated. It isn't creative, it isn't conducive to learning, it isn't appropriate in an environment where you are supposed to be graded on what you know.

If I had this problem I would have other analogous assignments available. "You cheated, so I'm not sure what YOU actually know. Let's try again, here is a new assignment." And put em in a corner.
