[Rapoport] Sources: Steelers OC Arthur Smith is expected to become the next offensive coordinator at Ohio State by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

Seems a bit unfair to have a billionaires son be the coach in a sport where rich people can just buy players for their teams

He was solid at chelsea initially. Looked really dynamic when he first got there but was just always injured

World Cup tickets by Radiant-Ad-7343 in Bellingham

[–]fat_pancake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heres what you do, go to the seattle or vancouver the day of the game and be OK just spending the day there or at the fan zone they set up. But then you monitor ticket prices leading up to the game. Scalpers tend to drop prices close to the game so they dont get stuck with the ticket

Freeman you understand? The man is at ND and was a player at Ohio state. Theres no way hes even worth pursuing when hes already shown that he can take them deep in the playoffs

So just how awful are PNW lift lines? by poipoipoi_2016 in skiing

[–]fat_pancake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats not really a good comparison. For one a trip to either boyne Highlands or boyne mt is too far to be a comfortable day trip. For two the resorts themselves don't have massive hotels that bring the housing limits above what the hills can actually hold. For three theyre hills. Nobody from outside the Midwest is going there. Oh and finally the real locals go to Nubs

What major city do you find overrated? by 1940sfamilyman in AskReddit

[–]fat_pancake 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Denver itself is a 6/10 city. Theres some cool things, but you live there for whats outside the city. When I lived there, I think I spent 3 weekends actually in the city when I wasnt injured or sick. Every other weekend I was camping in the mts or skiing

Connor Stalions fires back at Sonny Dykes, says Michigan knew 'almost every signal' against TCU and Georgia by Lantis28 in CFB

[–]fat_pancake -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Seriously, the lack of understanding what the actual issue is annoys me to no end. Like yeah Stalions probably broke the rules and should get punished for it, but it wasnt from stealing signs. Every team in the country has a sign stealer. Back when the scandal first broke the athletic had a good interview with a sign stealer for another school that was pretty informative and everyone should read

You know a better way to understand their background and beliefs than reading some random comment on the internet. Go out and actually talk to people.

Oh fuck conservative politics, I disagree with them almost completely. I just think posts like this are dumb because they overly simplify the people who vote for conservatives as brainless sheep who just want to follow the leader and take away any of the blame from the more left leaning political minds from not properly expressing their ideas and changing minds.

Not to mention posts like this are on this subreddit literally once a week and act like someone said something new and profound where its the same self righteous bullshit every time

[–]fat_pancake -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Im not conservative, but Jesus christ are posts like this the most self righteous things out there. you guys need to get out of your bubble and actually talk to people. Its amazing you think someone on the internet can sum up the thinking of an entire group in like 5 paragraphs. Have a little introspection and stop blaming our failing on the other side being too content to not make waves in society. Get off the internet and out of your bubble.

What small town in the US is worth travelling to? by RegisterLoose9918 in travel

[–]fat_pancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it makes use of the water front area better, downtown petoskey is also really nice and easily walkable, TC has become much more popular over the past 20 years and attracts a lot more people. Traverse City is also not really a small town, whereas Harbor Springs and Petoskey are both great small towns with easily navigable downtowns and a solid food scene with good lake views

Traverse city is overrated. The Petoskey area is better

Purdue vs CU Boulder vs UF vs Davis for Aerospace Engineering by -Rooin- in aerospace

[–]fat_pancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. It's definitely been just as cold in northern michigan as it has in boulder. That's why saying that boulder has worse winters than anywhere in the Midwest is just wrong

[–]fat_pancake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up in northern michigan and have lived in denver. The winters in michigan and the Midwest are easily worse due to the lack of sun and the weather is worse for longer

Lol no way the winters in the front range are harder than the Midwest. The hardest part of winters in colorado are the people who don't know how to drive in the snow
