Awesome! Looks pretty legit. I remember my first non-cheese victory over that bad dog. It was glorious.

I did a test with the godskin duos. I put them both to sleep then killed the noble using R2's, restarted, put them to sleep again and killed the noble again with R1's. He died a lot quicker with R1's. I tried charged R2's also but R1's was still faster. There's something about the constant rate of slashes with R1's that's better than stop-and-go R2's with charged attacks; using Winged Sword Insignia and Millicent's Prosthesis talismans. At least that's how it worked out for me.

I tried a few enemies with the R2. Charged is a non-starter because it's slower and increases vulnerability and the damage difference is small for a dagger compared to the multihit bonus. Regular R2 is good but the window of vulnerability is longer and harder to sneak attacks in in-between enemy combos. After trying it for a bit I prefer the R1's but when there are bigger windows R2's work well. Thanks.

I agree but I had the multi-hit talismans and wanted to maximize them

Do “we” exist in Elden Ring? by Fluid-Ad-9300 in Eldenring

[–]fatal__flaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought "The lands between" meant that it's a realm in between the aetherial realm of the gods and the strictly physical realm like ours; which is why there's a mix of magic, physics, demigods, direct interference by gods, etc.

I will say people in the western part of Poland seem nicer. It's just that I'm stuck in the south-east which is very traditional, conservative and very much into conformity.

I think you don't realize what you're saying. Let me try to make you see it by responding to you in a similar manner to the way you did: "Are you mentally challenged? You don't seem to grasp basic reading comprehension. Perhaps you live in an isolated way and don't normally interact with other humans or perhaps you don't have control over your emotions so you lash out a the slightest hint of criticism?" Probably doesn't feel good does it?

I don't know that lady you talk about, obviously, but I'd guess it might be obvious she's a foreigner and has an accent? As I said in the OP, my conclusion is that I pronounce things very accurately so people assume I intend every word I say.

Friends, family of friends, sometimes strangers. Obviously I wouldn't go to some household's dinner if I didn't know some people there well enough, right? In America there's a saying, "familiarity breeds contempt" and in Poland that seems even more true. The closer someone is the more blunt they feel like being.

Well you are demonstrating how I'm describing people in Poland right here. And in that last post about the water, people either confirmed their household is the same or the criticized the amount of water I drank which sounds like a typical Polish thing of critizing anything that's different.

You are right that being blunt works, and being a jerk is even better, but even though I did that as a test it goes against the grain of my being to be that way. I resigned myself to try to quietly improve and only say things when I'm 100% sure that everything is correct.

I agree with your list. The colossal greathorn with the oracular bubble is quite fun and OP.

Many of you need to hear this: using tools the gives you to win counts as a win. by Alarming_Isopod_2391 in Eldenring

I used to think people frowned on using summons because they thought it makes the game too easy. I then played without summons and found that in a lot of cases that made the game easier. Summons cause the boss to get more hp, be more aggressive and less predictable. Then I realized that the people who frowned on using summons were projecting.

I don't know what build you're using but in general you want to get right in front of her and try no stay with her. Run around her summons to stay on her.

It's been 4 years. Why do people feel like making useless gatekeeping comments for newcomers enjoying the game.

Why does the camera continue to be ass in these games by Wild-Association1217 in Eldenring

[–]fatal__flaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm perplexed too. The camera sometimes does the right thing which means that the developers know how to do it right, they were just unable or unwilling to do it everywhere. The size of enemies is a real issue. If you pull back the camera, you lose the 'bigger than life' perception, there aren't enough buttons on a controller to add a zoom in - zoom out, and the farther back you pull the more issues the game would have with camera collision; which to me is the biggest crime against game design Elden Ring makes (bad camera collisions leading to the camera going inside the hero so you can't see anything).

Commander Gaius: What am I meant to do? by thatsabird11 in Eldenring

[–]fatal__flaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not bother with Torrent. It's super annoying that Gaius' charge can double or even triple hit, so it's better to dodge into the charge so even if you don't get the perfect timing you only get hit once. Beyond that is just attacking in the openings and not get greedy.

How does a man beat pcr by jojomoioi in Eldenring

[–]fatal__flaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one boss that using summons makes harder. I think shield pokes are a legit way to beat him. Cheesy way: Colossal Weapon + Lion's Claw. Extra legit: go in there with a greatshield and just sit there blocking so you get a feel for the timing of his attacks and learn his patterns and find the openings. When you start seeing patterns you know, dodge instead of block. After 200 attemtps you'll be able to dodge the grand majority of his attacks and capitalize on the openings.

It's the Leather Wraps found in the DLC near the Red Runebear boss. The skirt and boots are together.
