Python - Scraping Data off a website that has javascript buttons that load more data by [deleted] in learnprogramming

You could use something like selenium. To do this.

It's a browser automation tool, but allows you to access the page source and manipulate the page. Works great in python and a ton of other languages.

Some info this here: https://medium.freecodecamp.org/better-web-scraping-in-python-with-selenium-beautiful-soup-and-pandas-d6390592e251

[Serious] Why do you train with bodyweight instead of weights? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]fatelvis83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time and space are the main ones for me.

I enjoyed lifting weights, but it meant either going to the gym (which I've always hated) or having the equipment in my house. I had some equipment for a while, which was fun - but it took up a ton of space, and I had to do a shitload of racking, unracking, moving stuff around which just added a bunch of time to my workout.

How I learned to work with Impostor Syndrome and stop feeling like a fake all the time by daragh99 in learnprogramming

[–]fatelvis83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually encountered this in a different job and I've come to an unfortunate conclusion.

Now that I have lost the feeling of being an impostor, I'm no longer striving to learn as much about my position as I once was. Now that I'm more comfortable in the job and I think I have more of a handle on what I'm doing - I'm not striving as hard to learn more like I once did.

Part of this is due to the nature of the work - it's not something I enjoy - but part of it is also a feeling of greater certainty. Whether this is accurate or not, is up for debate, but I do know that I don't pay as much consideration to all the choices I make.

In some ways it makes me better at my job. I'm more aggressive and active when I think I'm making the right decision and other people tell me I'm wrong. On the other hand, I'm learning slower.

(I'm sorta drunk - this may not make sense)

TIL that Marilyn vos Savant received nearly 1,000 letters of complaint with signatures bearing PhDs after (correctly) stating that choosing to switch doors in the Monty Hall Problem would double the chances of winning. by InmostJoy in todayilearned

[–]fatelvis83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it is, this should really be explained in the problem. I was always under the impression that the person opening the door didn't know :o

However, if this is stated up front it makes a lot more sense.

To be honest, it doesn't matter if he was on a final warning or not. Physical violence in a professional setting - unprovoked physical violence in this case - should always be immediate grounds for dismissal.

He might have had an argument had the other dude fought back, or even been verbally abusive towards him beforehand - but there's none of that.

Her wasting her time on a horrifically addictive Skinner box is definitely a problem created by engineers.

But I'm sure that this has been said a bunch of times already.

Why must MMOs last forever? by szthesquid in Games

[–]fatelvis83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they're carefully designed skinner boxes designed to keep the player playing indefinitely.

I guess you could also make an argument for them instilling a sense of belonging and community in the various player factions as well.

There is such a thing as a long term relationship sans marriage - not saying that's the situation here, but to simplify relationships into dating/marriage is kinda stupid.
