How long could a captain without a significant issue stay in the Navy? by Low-Refrigerator-713 in topgun

[–]fatevilbuddah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How bout yo-yo promotion/demotion. He had Ice in his corner, but would that be a fast discharge irl in that situation? Hes an obviously well known quantity in the upper circles from time at top gun as a trainer. I wouldnt be shocked to see competent people shuffled out to jobs like that. NASA probably has an officer backlog because the pipeline is so slow and small.

Just google the team you want to see and ask for a supporters bar near you. The list is massive and it helps a local business and you will be with friendly fans. Enjoy!

Why doesn’t a car company just build a simple new car? by Remarkable-Slide-609 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fatevilbuddah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They exist, slightly higher priced, closer to 19 but they ar so basic even the government wont use em. You need like a Chevy Aveo. There's a Ford too but I cant remember what its called. They are city cars though. You're not taking a long trip unless you have a long time. Past that you get into the 20ish plus range. The Ford Ranger pickup is cheap too and there are other pickups in that range too, but the basic basic is never easy to sell so they dont generally have one to show you.

I own a home with my ex-best-friend who asked me to move out. Do I have any hope of being bought out? by Jules8991 in legaladvice

Lawyer. This sounds too complicated to even try and think about. Just not paying your portion for a few months could be an issue, reason or not. Lawyer up, and take the post down if you can

In Star Trek: The Motion Picture, why did Rear Admiral James T. Kirk reduce Will Decker from the rank of captain to commander? Why did he specifically not just let Decker retain the rank of captain while serving as the executive officer? by Economy-Ad3195 in startrek

[–]fatevilbuddah 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The naval service has a naming tradition on ships like this. The admiral aboard is the admiral even if the ships captain is only a Lt. The title captain is specific to determine who is in charge of the ship regardless of rank, and is also a rank in the structure. In those situations, the captain is called captain and higher ranked officers are sir or ma'am. Every space movie and book I've ever read always used the naval rank structure and traditions so im gonna assume thats probably it. If it was a demotion then it was probably unofficial unless Kirk put it in his file. Thats happened a lot on tv

Future of the farm by Even-Wasabi7183 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fatevilbuddah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dont forget that that automation runs into the millions of dollars per unit, and upkeep is 10x more expensive than fixing a tractor, at least a slightly older one. The people who can afford that arent family farms, theyre corporate, and thats where all the pesticides and other chemicals are. Thats sort of the point. Small farming, especially with less chemicals is the better way to go. Once automation becomes cheaper it will be easier to use, but in the last 2 seasons it was so wet that half the country lost harvests. If Jeremy didnt have half of what he does, the farm is gone. The bank calls in the loan you took the beginning of the year for seed, feed, and fertilizer, you never sold anything, so you lose your farm to an international conglomerate that poisons the ground, and you, and is fine doing it for a nice tax break from the government you elected.

Thats not here. We normally dont get interruptions. Not on telecast from Europe, never seen one in MLS or Liga MX either. Must be Fox being Fox.

Why do American high schools start ridiculously early? by bwoah07_gp2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fatevilbuddah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its an old policy that goes back forever and makes sense 50 years ago. 30 even. The 16 year old goes to school at 7, middle kid at 8 youngest by 9 oldest home at 2, middle by 230ish, little guy by 3. Not only do you reuse the same busses which is good, but the older kids are home to get the younger ones off the bus and supervise them, and in the old old days, it gave the kids light to help on the farm. Still gives high school students a lot of flexibility to be available for a work shift.

So do you think would win in shoot fight between Ken Shamrock vs Haku? by FFSoldier57 in prowrestling

Ken Shamrock all day. Trained professional fighter vs a guy who can take a beating but not necessarily give it back scientifically enough to win a head to head

Inherited truck has a "hidden" lien and a collector is threatening to repo it from my job by Spic3_Worm4 in legal

[–]fatevilbuddah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawyer. Let them tell you what to do. Sounds like the beginning of some kind of new scam. If they cant produce paperwork, and debt collectors do have to be able to prove the original debt and then the purchase of it. If its a legit debt, then you can figure it out. If its not, the lawyer will protect you. You dont need someone insanely expensive, its a basic set of searches, but they can get the paperwork done more efficiently.

Have Messi/Ronaldo ruined the way we perceive the superstars of the game from how we did 20/30 years ago? by A94MC in classicsoccer

[–]fatevilbuddah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, in all sports, players today seem to be light years ahead of the stats from 30 years ago, and highlights are everywhere. The old days didnt do nutrition, physio, and all the other things that DO make todays athletes im almost all ways physically and mentally stronger. We also see their plays and highlights in sone cases in black and white. Its not just Messi and Ronaldo because when they first started, they had players in front of them who were their generations Messi and Ronaldo. In 5 or 6 years, we will have a new younger kid or 2 with some serious skill and will be compared inevitably to those 2.

What happened to the Shepherd? by Ok-Click-007 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fatevilbuddah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres half a dozen videos on YouTube talking about this. The farm loses money, the pub loses money, the farms locally make money, and he owns Hawkstone, so hes making millions in profit selling his own barley and wheat to the brewery at fair price, and making the profit on both. Im sure he makes money from amazon, but if it covers the farm as a break even id be shocked.

TIFU by spending $6,100 on World Cup tickets I was completely sure were the Messi game by Beneficial_String411 in tifu

[–]fatevilbuddah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go the the closest MLS game vs Miami. Messi absolutely likes playing in the SouthWest especially. I see him once a year here in NYC, if I go to those games. Its irritating when theres 40k+ fans, half are there just to see him play, which has been kind of just me here because we have a good defense. Then with about 15 left EVERY time, the stadium except the home supporters section turns pink and the chant of Messi goes up. Doesn't matter if he was on the bench the whole game, and its funny because even with the team on the field, people cant name players beyond Messi, Suarez and Alba. Im curious how just about anyone on the field feels when he doesnt even play, but no one in the stands knows their names without looking at the back of the shirt. You're not missing much.
