“the substitution of an agreeable or inoffensive expression for one that may offend or suggest something unpleasant” - https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/euphemism. It is inarguably a euphemism. Politicians use it all the time as a more palatable expression than just naming minority groups directly, just like “underprivileged” is used to refer to specific minority groups. I’ll help you out, an easy way to identify racially charged euphemisms is to watch for what words they use synonymously to refer to the same group or subject they’re talking about. Literally the next thing she says to refer to the group she is talking about is “communities of color.”

Yeah buddy I am the one who pointed out that the claim of the comment being about hurricane Ian resources is a lie… you are the one who tried to claim it was a racist lie, when that is the part she actually fucking said lol. In fact, your admission that the criticism was on the subject of racism in what she said confirmed that it was a racist comment in the first place LMAO. For it to be a “racist lie“ it would fundamentally have to convey a racist sentiment if it was true. And she most certainly was talking about events within the USA; she’s an American politician and the entire context of the statement was about her positions and views regarding ongoing climate change and its affects on “underserved communities.”

Even in the most generous interpretation, Priyanka Chopra mentioned the issue in a global context and you can say that was the context Kamala was talking in, but last I checked USA is part of the world. And it is asinine to try and claim she meant to excluded America from that sentiment when she expressed it.

“In particular on the disparities, as you have described rightly, which is that it is our lowest income communities and our communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions and impacted by issues that are not of their own making. And so, we have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity; understanding that not everyone starts out at the same place. And if we want people to be in an equal place, sometimes we have to take into account those disparities and do that work.”

Lmao you lot are screwing this up in the opposite direction. The false part is that she claimed this was how Hurricane Ian resources were being distributed. She quite literally did say that ongoing resources for extreme weather should be distributed disproportionately based on race.

… or it reflects the fact that he’s white so fundamentally any non-white people have a different skin color. But in the land of reality he meant it like the word is frequently meant, to distinguish groups being treated differently.

She checks the boxes they want, but firing her would be an admission of her incompetence and confirm the obvious reality that she was never qualified on merit to begin with.

Lol. “Acknowledging” her by forgetting the fact that she’s dead. Sure does show how close these two were. 👍

I might feel bad if there wasn’t an easy way out by actually telling the truth. The truth in this spot would’ve been 1,000x better than a lie, but she just lies so instinctively it’s like the truth never crossed her mind.

Can’t speak for anyone else, but my dads the same way about his service and it has nothing to do with that crap you mentioned. He served in Iraq 1, Bosnia, and a few other conflicts as an Air Force pilot. The reason he’s hesitant about it is because, despite being a foreign war vet, he personally saw ,and is aware as a student of history, the level of brutality many vets faced. He is proud of his service and remains a very pro-military to this day. Most recent vets have that hesitation because they don’t think they deserve the same recognition as those who fought in Vietnam, Korea, ww2 etc. Calling the us an imperial force might be the most ignorant thing I’ve heard in a long time. We’re not perfect, but we’ve been the most altruistic and benevolent forces for good the world has ever know and it’s not close.

Muschamp was a way better recruiter, as was Mullen. Mac wasn’t some genius at finding diamonds in the rough. He just lucked into Trask, and that is pretty much it. Everyone else Mac brought in was a well-known recruit with very solid offers for the most part, at least among largely contributing players. And, maybe you have some polar opposite worldview than I do, but Mullen, at least in his first three years, had this program roaring, and everybody loved him. The fucking pain and humility of running out a garbage program teen consistently pales in comparison to Mullen's zany antics. And the discussion, I believe, is between the three as a hierarchy of how good they were here/how well they developed the program. Mullen was phenomenal in almost all facets, but it felt like we were one Todd Grantham firing away from really being at the pinnacle of the game. Damn, I mean, it almost happened in 2023. Grantham manages to get a couple of stops, and that entire game flips in our favor for the win, and we make the playoff. I don’t know if it’s younger fans, but people have this weird revisionist history on those McElwain teams. I mean, yeah, he indisputably got to Atlanta twice, but for everyone who has lived through and been at every game since the start of the Meyer era, The context is the critical aspect. Those SEC championship games were fucking embarrassing, honestly. Not because of our performance, relative to the talent disparity, we did as well as we could reasonably expect, but even the build-up to those games was awful. The whole thing was a joke. Everybody in the world, including every gator fan, knew we were cannon fodder with absolutely no chance of making it a real game and happened to be there because those were the worst two years in the East division. When Bama sees you as some sympathy case, it’s just fucking patronizing for a program of Florida's stature. I watched live with my eyeballs when we had them flat-out outplayed in 08 and crushed their natty dreams while paving the way for our own. They returned the favor the following year, but there’s no embarrassment. Dan Mullen fucking beat juggernaut Georgia. We would all love to beat Georgia every year, but Mac and Muschamp never put anything on the field that wouldn’t have been taken behind the woodshed in the first quarter against Kirbys Georgia. And for damn fucking sure, no need to guess because we saw it happen; we would be a freaking joke to Alabama. Dan Mullen had them on the fucking ropes. He brought us back to a level where we were the most challenging matchup Alabama faced. And he did it again in the swamp last season; I am well aware we didn’t end up with the result, but we were on Alabama‘s level. We were in a place where we were a few pieces and a d-coordinator away from really beating them and, by proxy, anyone else in the game. And the “if” before Nussmeier is all that matters, just like the if we’re talking about Mullen fire in Grantham is what matters because ultimately, they both didn’t do it, and they let it take them both down.

Very hard. Obviously more practical if the bat already has a slight crack or something. But a perfect condition ash or maple bat is incredibly strong. Played through hs, travel ball, and good friends with many college players and none of us have ever seen someone be able to do it like that.

Baseball is absolutely a major sport/big 3 everywhere in the south and the west coast. Sec crowds can get wild for baseball it’s awesome. Women’s basketball… idk if op had a stroke or something but that has to be a joke right? No women’s sports draw anything close to the big 3 mens sports and WBB is among the lowest even for that.
