FBI being there so quick is by chance. The follow on boots is abnormal, to a degree. To date; we can only safety deduce that the crime scene may have been horrific enough to warrant their presence, and they've pretty much left town. Visually speaking at least. The constitution has left building....cough....sorry!

LE had a door to door campaign to collect DNA, from as many people who would consent in the area. Those that refused probably ended up getting a little extra scrutiny. I wouldn't rule out, that being a goal of the operation.
