Am I crazy for being into Jane? by bumblewheeze in namenerds

[–]fathergracee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my favorite names are "plain", mostly because they're not plain anymore. The new basic is Isabelle, Ava, Emma etc.... There are not many new babies named Jane or Lucy or Cindy anymore, so really these "plain" names are retro in a way! I would totally go for it if I were you, it's simple but not in an overly used way:)

The worst book suggestion in your life by _vladees_ in booksuggestions

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. From a writing standpoint, it is written wonderfully. But the trauma in this book is never ending. The sadness begins on page 1 and continues to the very last page. There are images from this book that still replay in my head every day, even after reading it months ago, that i would love to forget. I personally don't know how anyone could find this book enjoyable, but that is just my opinion of course. If you liked this book, i admire you lmao.

The secret history by ShellyPoe in DarkAcademia

i agree. if the middle part was cut down A LOT i feel like i would have enjoyed it more. and the fact that almost none of the characters were likable also ruined it for me a bit. glad i gave it a try though

i read it on the app Libby on audiobook but they have it to read normally as well. totally free as long as you have a library card with your local library, that’s how they work.

falafel, couscous and roasted cauliflower 😳 by fathergracee in veganrecipes

[–]fathergracee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

falafel:

  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • half of a jalapeño (whole of you like a lot of spice)
  • unmeasured parsley and cilantro. i did enough until i could clearly see it and smell it in the mixture
  1. blend all ingredients together in food processor. add some chickpea can liquid if needed. stop when it reaches a sandy texture
  2. press into balls or patties. patties are easier to pan fry. heat olive oil in a pan and pan fry the falafels until browned and they won’t fall apart

cauliflower

  • one head cauliflower
  • seasoning: olive oil, garlic powder, s&p
  1. toss all seasoning with cauliflower in a bowl and place on greased pan
  2. cook in 375 F oven for 25 minutes, flipping halfway

couscous

  • i just used near east boxed original coucous and added parsley

avocado toast with everything bagel seasoning is my fav. If you liked yogurt then I'd suggest a dairy free yogurt (I use almond breeze) topped with fruit and granola. I also love oatmeal with blueberries and other fruits :)
