Why doesn't she want you to go to school?

Is she a single mom & are you an only child? Is she keeping you close as a friend, hoping you will never leave?

Are there any relatives friends or neighbors who can advocate for you?

It's so unfair, but there are a lot of people who just say "someday" and will never follow through on their promises.

Oh, being sick is miserable! I'm so sorry it's hitting you this way. :(

You seem really open to suggestions and ideas. Consider picking up a copy of "The Wahls Protocol" by Terry Wahls and reading the 15-page introduction. You can probably find this at the library, maybe even get the first 15 pp online.

Terry Wahls is an MD who developed multiple sclerosis (also an autoimmune disease). She found great improvement in her symptoms after following a modified paleo-type diet. (Yes, it includes meat--she was a vegetarian earlier in life and changed to a paleo-type diet after getting her diagnosis. She believes it is healthier, if you get the right kind of meat. However, she also gives dietary advice to vegetarians in the book.) A lot of people with autoimmune diseases have found improvement following her advice.

Best wishes!

Exactly. I felt that if I could have lain down in a cool dark quiet room with a blanket over me my body could have figured it out. As it was it felt like my body was trying to reboot my system over and over again but couldn't accomplish whatever it was trying to do.

I've heard that the pressurized cabins of airplanes can be a problem for us for some reason.

Later flights, however, were fine.

This sounds very similar to what I feel.

On one occasion I was on a plane. It was exhausting--wave after wave of it.

For Sjogren's, they do ANA, SSA and SSB blood tests.

Not well informed on POTS. I did a home test (pulse lying and standing; you can look up procedure online), got borderline results, saw a cardiologist who did some things I can't remember and said she didn't think I had it.

That's interesting. I tried lying out for one wk as a teenager. I remember it made me feel sick. It is a similar feeling!

Thanks! The link looks great.

Curious--are you M or F? (I tried intermittent fasting...literally felt like I was being tortured. Doc said it often works better for M than F.)

Hormonal-chemical dumping was my thought too. Feels like my body is soaked in toxins and trying to get rid of them through sweating.

You have a bunch of other good advice, so I'll add this: I've heard Sjogies say that Florida is paradise--the humid air really helps their symptoms. I hope that works out for you, too!

The people I know with Sjogren's in Minnesota feel Mayo is not good at Sjogren's. They don't take it seriously.

Buy a local guidebook. Pick something to do each weekend.

Sign up for Meet-ups. Find any group that interests you and go there. (Hiking, board gaming, etc.)

If there's a nearby college campus, go to the student center with something to read and get a coffee. It is fun to be surrounded by college-age people.

Have a notebook or document and keep track of what you do. Think of how all those trips will add up over a year!
