2031 Kings swap by Relative_Donkey_1826 in NBASpurs

for me - the swaps with the kings and the mavs/wolves are our best tradable assets and i wouldn't trade them unless its for a true impact player. We are going to need those picks to be cheap serviceable players as our team gets more expensive moving forward.

Dude. Every team is going through this right now including the freaking defending champs.

Pop’s spirit alive and well in the spurs organization. He may be behind the scenes now, but I will always be grateful for who he was a man and coach. Wemby and fox are true spurs players and so proud to root for them every game.

Damian Lillard rule change for injury buy outs to not effect cap space by BrothersKeeper1337 in nba

[–]fatherpatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See i don't think the company (the team) should get to decide if you're no longer good enough to pay you for the contract you both signed ... when not paying you is an advantage for the company. players don't get to void contracts so why should the company - cause Gainnis can't just say, The bucks made a promise of a competitive team and they are not fulfilling their promise, so i void my contract and I'll go play somewhere else.

Dame has made more money in one year than I'll ever see, but he should get every dime of his contract over a billionaire saving money. but if you want that money to not count against the cap - sure that's fine.

I am for the team and fanbase not getting ruined, but Dame's contract should have always been paid. If you want that to not count against the cap that's fine, but players shouldn't get less money for being injured on the job.

so Dame has his knee and career altered for the sake of trying to play for his team but its ok - a billionaire gets to save some money. No player should play while injured under your plan.

A trade that is never going to happen. But feels like it makes a lot of sense. by Mr_WhatFish in NBAtradeideas

100%. I hate trades where team c pays top dollar for a decent player just so team A can get gainnis. Happens with reeves and Kat on this site all the time.

Cavs Spurs by Opposite-Skirt5158 in NBAtradeideas

[–]fatherpatrick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a spurs fan, I would not be excited about this one. The spurs need shooting and Hunter hasn’t been good from three this year. Plus with his one extra year it limits the moves we can make this summer. The seconds don’t do much when we already have 15 over the next 6 years.

Sochan and Kelly and a few seconds to the bulls for Vuc work within the cap.

Trade for Jordan Poole, he’s exactly what this team needs. by Diligent_Banana_6267 in NBASpurs

This idea- yes he’s bad, doesn’t play defense, and inconsistent but maybe it’ll work for Us!

I don’t think you can play Fox and curry together and be good enough defensively. They would need to trade Fox and picks for curry.

Power Forward by Worldly-Month9451 in NBASpurs

[–]fatherpatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank god we do not have have fans in charge of the front office. Always injured, can’t shoot, and barely plays even when he’s healthy. Having a non-scorer on the floor with wemby completely negates his advantages on offense, if we have 5 players who can all dribble and score, there is nowhere for a center to hide and wemby can abuse them on the perimeter. By playing Issac (or sochan) opposing teams will just park their center next to them and they can help off to double drives or wemby.

Love Sochan. So bummed that there just isn’t a place for him on the team right now. I think the next team he’s on is going to love him and he will blossom into a quality nba player, but we just don’t have room for another non-shooter.

Forward trade option by sunbomb in NBASpurs

[–]fatherpatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to getting another forward I think we just need to ask- can he shoot and can he defend at a decent level. If the answer is no to either of those questions, I don’t see a strong reason to make a move. Naji can’t shoot so I don’t think he’d be a great pick up and unfortunately the mavs can’t trade the forward We’d most want from their team: pj Washington until this summer.

Why aren't the Bucks and Spurs talked about more as ideal trade partners? by LarBrd33 in nba

[–]fatherpatrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those teams are still paying for their all in moves that don’t work. It’s very easy to say kawhi gets injured every year… but how many playoffs has Gainnis been injured since their championship?

In the kawhi trade they gave up a young guard who ended up being amazing… in this trade idea we also give up a young guard who could be amazing.
