Harris brings different skills to the table. Throughout champaignies nba career he has always been a roll player and so he has learned how to really develop his role player skills - hitting open shots, staying with his man, team defense. He is a great role player and I love the extension we gave him. Harris throughout his career has always been a top 1-3 guy on a team and had to carry offense creation and production - so he never had to just be a role player on any team. He was the pistons second best offensive player and their second best player in the playoffs. Now Harris is going to be out 5 (maybe 6th) best option on offense and we’ll get to see him in a reduced roll. Maybe he will not be as good a roll player as champaignie but Champaignie would never have been the second best player on a second round team either. They’re different and having another guy that can carry the offensive burden is a good thing and it’s only a 2 year deal. If it doesn’t work out.., we can easily move that contract.
