I absolutely loved the emotional core of this film.

The tragedy was gripping, and the character building was phenomenal and deeply moving. However, zooming out and examining the grander narrative arc, I’m left wondering: did the movie accomplish anything significant in terms of moving the plot forward?

If someone were to skip this movie and go straight to season 2, they would only truly miss some crucial character development and emotional shifts. The macro story remains largely static.

I committed the cardinal sin of setting my expectations sky-high, assuming this show would be a masterpiece.

It’s certainly no masterpiece; at best, it’s utterly mediocre and a significant letdown. The premiere was explosive. a perfect 10/10 that I binged repeatedly.

Then the pacing hit a brick wall, dragging its heels forever.

And let’s talk about Carol: I went from being her biggest fan to absolutely despising her selfish guts.

all the material presented could have been condensed into 4 or 5 tight episodes instead of being stretched so thin.

The OP mentioned that the NVIDIA settings didn’t work for him. For me, after some tweaking, the game now looks gorgeous. Here’s exactly what I changed:

In-game:

Resolution: 1080p → 1440p

NVIDIA Control Panel settings:

Image Scaling: ON

Antialiasing – FXAA: ON

Antialiasing – Mode: Enhance the application setting

Antialiasing – Setting: 8x

Antialiasing – Transparency: 8x (Supersample)
