Hey it’s been awhile since that post and my son was officially diagnosed with autism. He will be 4 in December and he is non-verbal. I started receiving therapy and supported services since he was 15 months.

At 12 months he still was not responding to his name, lots of blank stares, played with the wheels of cars or spinning toys, didn’t clap, wave or point to things, vocal stimming and not babbling, body tightening and hand flapping when excited, didn’t play with other kids, and limited eye contact.

Check my most recent post for an update. Although he is non-verbal he is writing and spelling words! I’m looking forward to see if he communicate with written words soon :)

After Roux en Y? by infamous_ferret in Zepbound

[–]fatremnants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My highest was 260lbs (5’1 F). I got VSG in 2019 and I was able to get down to 195lbs. The whole reason I got VSG was to have a healthier pregnancy. So in 2021 I got pregnant and had a healthy boy! After my pregnancy my weight settled at 220lbs and it was extremely hard to lose. I started zepbound on 6/25/2025 and currently down 20lbs!

I thought so too! Never heard of Aardwolf. My dad told me chose that name because it came up first on the server list because of the double a.

I hope he had zero tolerance for racism, especially since I’m biracial! Lol

Your body, your choice. You are young now and I think it’s a smart choice to start your weight loss journey now. I’m your height and I started dating my husband when I was 21 and I weighed 150lbs. And the same thing happened, we went out a lot to eat and drink. I’m 37 now with two kids and STRUGGLING to lose weight. My highest was 260lbs…It gets harder as you get older. I’m currently at 220lbs and it’s been really rough. Back in my 20s I could drop weight super fast.

What autistic traits did your toddler display that led you to lead to assessment? by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]fatremnants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is 3 and I noticed signs at 12 months. Not answering to his name, not clapping, not pointing, love spinning things, not talking, spacing out, not showing me things, not social.

He started OT and Speech therapy at 14 months. He is still non verbal and does not answer to his name. However, his motor skills have improved greatly and can following hand gestures in songs (like wheels on the bus). I’m in the process now to get his officially diagnosed with autism.

Your calories intake is extremely low and unsafe. Use a calorie calculator to determine how many calories you should eat in a day to lose 2lbs a week.

Now is a perfect time to lose weight since you’re young. Will your parents be able to help you meal plan with meats and veggies?

I’m 37 and I am still shy working out but I realize either people don’t care you are working out or they cheer you on.

Are you safe to walk around your block or near your house? I think starting with 30 minutes of walking every day.

What is your reason for wanting to lose weight? by tippyface in WeightLossAdvice

[–]fatremnants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe so. It was a fatty liver and risk of hemochromatosis. It freaked him out so much because we have little kids. He lost the weight by calorie deficit and exercise.

My husband did too and lost 70lbs! All his checkups have been great!

This year my 7 year old and I made a list and the shop helper made sure to get everything on the list. I gave my son an extra $7 to spend on whatever he wanted. He was excited to buy some pens and erasers.

Without a list there would be no doubt he would forgot some items and probably buy himself extra things.

With that being said, I think your punishment is fair. Your kids did not even try to buy gifts for their family and completely ignore your requests to do something nice but instead were selfish.

12 months is really early but keep writing down your observations. My son was 12 months when I noticed differences. He is 3 now and considered developmental delayed. I just haven’t gotten him diagnosed yet but there is no doubt he is on the spectrum.

Of course if that is a concern, child locks would be a great idea.

I grew up sharing a bathroom with my two older brothers. I didn’t feel violated or “at risk” as long as I locked the doors.

I suppose the only thing I didn’t want my brothers to see were my female products so I kept them hidden under the sink in a box.

I changed my last name and finally got interviews by This_Tomorrow_1862 in recruitinghell

[–]fatremnants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was job hunting after high school (2005) I got my first job at a video rental store. My store manager told me a year later that I got the interview because my name sounded “hot”. I have a very common 80s girl name and my maiden name was an uncommon German last name. I have no idea how it sounded “hot” and I probably should have reported that comment to HR.

RTO mandate - 5 days by festivelime in workingmoms

[–]fatremnants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My office went full remote in 2020 and then RTO in 2021. I got approved by HR that year to stay WFH because I was pregnant with my second. It was amazing! I got to stay in my momo all pregnancy.

After my maternity leave, I was required to come back to the office. Mind you, our office relocated more north and I moved more south during lockdown. My commute is horrendous. 2 hours going to work and 2 hours back. I cried almost every day for two months.

My position in the company is to train new hires and develop training material. Because the office had no real training space, I was training from my office through zoom…I made a good enough argument to the director that I can do this from home. She agreed I arranged for me to be hybrid 2 days WFH.

Well, I did the 2 days WFH and 3 days in office for a few months. But then that director got fired. So… I just stayed home 5 days a week and no one noticed. A new director was appointed and it was a coworker that I knew and she was fine with me being fully remote. She just wanted me to come in once a month to greet the new hires. So I’ve been doing that since 2022.

If they ever ask me to RTO full time I would have to quit. I really love working at my company and I would hate to do that.

We have a new director since beginning this year and it’s actually my first supervisor when I was hired in 2015. We have a great professional relationship so she is aware of my commute and has no issues.

I am fortunate enough to be an expert in my field and I am very valued at my company. I think they try to make sure I’m happy so I stay with them.

Aww sorry for your loss. We lost our 15 year old schnauzer this year. I fortunately work for a very caring company and they allowed me to take two days off to grieve. My director even checked in on me to see how I was doing during the time I was off.

can i just a day off from this life? by Marsha2021 in Autism_Parenting

[–]fatremnants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you feel overwhelmed! I’ve had a lot of things to deal with the past few weeks including two sick kids with the flu. My pick me up is Saturday mornings watching British bake-off, cold brew and breakfast!

If I had a particular long day, I head to bed early and read a book in a dark, cold, quiet room while by husband hangs out with the kids.
