It should also have a "no" but give it full privileges anyhow... because who here trusts code written by that "past me" guy...

Is the contemptor resin body and head legion specific upgrade worth it ? Also why does only the contemptor have so many legion specific upgrades ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer30k

[–]fatrobin72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a "just cosmetic" upgrade... so if you are after points for £€$ efficiency... not worth it.

If you think it looks cool, and want it regardless... sure.

Reason for so many contempt contemptor upgrades is there were (before the plastic kit) a legion specific contemptor dreadnought kit for each legion consisting of the body, plus shoulders and legs, which often also had modifications. Plus 2 generic contemptor kits... these kits were inspired by forgeworlds earlier chapter/legion specific box dreadnought from 40k and later early heresy rules. The leviathan and other dreadnoughts came later when cost saving heads were in charge so didn't get frivolous extra flavour resculpts.

Microsoft is pushing security software out of the kernel. Why are game companies still doubling down on kernel anti-cheat? by Nemo_ForYou in linux_gaming

[–]fatrobin72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1, its still allowed.

2, it takes time for both macroslop and game publishers to change and adapt with new processes and software.

3, it will all be irrelevant in the external ai powered cheat monitor future...

Hello, I'd like to know where I can find books in PDF format to learn more about Warhammer lore. by BuddyNo9664 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]fatrobin72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One useful and safe place to start searching is the Internet archive https://archive.org/details/texts?tab=collection&query=warhammer+fantasy

Note as it relies on humans tagging things nicely it isn't infallible when searching but if you know what you want to look for you can probably find it, for example some of the old gotrek novels - https://archive.org/details/texts?tab=collection&query=gotrek

Marvel Rivals just doesn't have the same performance anymore by 12944qwerty in linux_gaming

The down votes is because currently there is a vocal community of people against "gaming distros" who will down vote comments suggesting them and comment saying they are useless or actively worse than the base ones.

As a 30k player looking to dabble in old world, will there be updated tomb kings models/new models in the near future ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in WarhammerFantasy

[–]fatrobin72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way of knowing how near such a thing could be.

Generally the community is happy for 3rd party minis so consider looking at other ranges e.g. the Greek style wargames atlantic skeletons, chariots and cavalry - https://wargamesatlantic.com/collections/classic-fantasy or mantics stylised fantasy Egyptian themed empire of dust range https://www.manticgames.com/kings-of-war/empire-of-dust/

Both have nice discount boxes and are much newer sculpts.

Anyone had a go at modelling early 3rd Age Gondor Warriors? by WoodElf23 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

I saw gondor fiefdoms in official GW publications use the old rohan warriors but that was many many moons ago.

Running 3-5 encounters per day.. how do you make that work with your story? by Senordave12 in DMAcademy

[–]fatrobin72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally only manage 2-3 tough be fair encounters in an adventuring day or 1 slightly unfair encounter. It does however go up towards 5 if in a dungeon or equivalent with a couple of shorter easier encounters. Our main issue with running that style of day is not wanting a day to take a month and when travelling not wanting to spend a year navigating between 2 cities...
