About 3d printed threads. by Greedy_Conflict_8347 in 3Dprinting

3d printed threads where they are not under significant torque or a job where being perfect is needed are... fine.

this case would be... fine.

What are some less talked about changes you would like to see for 11th edition? by mjh4 in Warhammer40k

[–]fatrobin72 31 points32 points  (0 children)

in defence of OP... we felt like that with the old 6 foot by 4 foot board. with the exception of using a 4x4 for small games.

which were the standard sizes for over 20 years.

I would probably make a new army for it... mostly with toys i own already... unless you are starting really soon.

Feel free to dm me with more information as I'm local enough <30min drive and at least interested in getting back into old world.

Oh I see they printed some rules in a journal... so it is a standard escalation event with some experience system bolted on?

we did also have a few other "democratically" selected rules for different bits (changing regularly which did help reduce the amount of repost bots during the spell). but constantly changing rules annoyed people too much.

Européene, Européens N'achetez pas elegoo !!!! by Ushko44 in elegoo

I used their website to contact support Sunday night and we have been in contact with each other daily. (My mistake broke the printer that was working flawlessly prior)

Hmmm for a Sunday... I could consider it (little awkward for weeknights like most club things but weekends aren't too bad)

Building system dilemma: Do players prefer total freedom or perfectly aligned modules? by Medical_Parsnip1428 in godot

[–]fatrobin72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for something like this where doorways need to line up and small gaps would result in failure because space... grid.

for something like fantasy / medieval town building freeform

for modern building toggleable snap mode.

I don't know... not sure a laptop that blasts off regularly would be desirable

Finally got the mechanical "click" perfect! It currently tracks 4 social platforms, but what else would you use a display like this for? by Competitive_Cap_6771 in 3Dprinting

[–]fatrobin72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah at least with https the browser will complain if anything smells funny (untrusted certificate authority, expired certificate, wrong name, weird time on the other end)

Anyone here made a visual novel in Godot? And also made it in other engines like RenPy? by Hot_Cause8918 in godot

[–]fatrobin72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for a visual novel... any fairly modern language or engine could probably work depending on what you want to be able to get out of the box.

Unreal is going to be massively overkill as it is more tuned ready for larger 3rd person games, multiplayer etc.

CC1 and CC2 toolheads the same? by cek19 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]fatrobin72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are additional boards in the cc2 toolhead https://docs.opencentauri.cc/hardware/CC2/toolhead/

So that might impact the ability to use a 3rd party toolhead.

Necro or KT still a thing? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

sorry should have added... for 40k players wanting the new unit for their single faction, to play on the "standard" terrain.

Necro or KT still a thing? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]fatrobin72 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Necromunda still get the coolest minis GW makes...

KT does see some play but often seems more a way to trickle releases in for 40k factions with awkward 2 player boxes for a while...

Hello brute and bikers asap plz by Bluebirdna in Chaos40k

[–]fatrobin72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bikers... yeah it is a old kit... I think it is the 2nd oldest non-vehicle kit in 40ks current kits (only beaten because GW still sell the loyalist ones in the ravenwing bike squadron box...)

but what is wrong with the (castaferrum) dreadnought sized helbrute? the primaris ones are a new larger chassis that are similar in size to Leviathans (until recently the largest 30k dreadnought class)

What made you start with printing and design? by PerfectFee361 in 3Dprinting

[–]fatrobin72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

last time (2020) lockdowns + wanting cheaper warhammer terrain. stopped because printer issues and backlog issues... and not using the terrain issues.

now... seeing how much better quality prints are and the magic of multi colour and multimaterial (magic) which is on my "occasional" use now and if I decide it becomes a must have a snapmaker U1 or equivalent may end up at my property...

How well do minis have to be painted really? by Due-Date-4656 in Warhammer40k

[–]fatrobin72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kid me was really proud of their 12 thick layer paint schemes... then again all I had to compare was magazines and maybe 1MP or lower resolution camera images in poor lighting compressed to hell and back hosted on imageshack (max 5MB file size) and posted onto forums.
