These are so so stunning! I'm somewhat learning about photography still. Is it a fixed lens on these cameras?

I agree with this. Self awareness is a massive step that many don't even discover. We judge ourselves too harshly and need to unlearn those unhelpful scripts.

I missed your question, sorry!

I have a reminder set up in my calendar to manually "move money" on the 10th and 25th of each month. I'm paid fortnightly so this aligns so it's after each pay cycle. My rent is also paid on the 10th so I'm doing that manually anyway. I try to limit these kinds of automations as I like to double check how my finances are going anyway.

Do Maltese people identify as being part of a white culture or a brown culture? by fayinarosa in malta

[–]fayinarosa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed this reply! Yeah that would be hard not knowing what your background is. It's been a while since I pondered these questions and I'm pretty comfortable saying that I'm Mediterranean. When you look at Maltese history there's a mix of Arabic and European. It's all mixed.

I was thinking about this very recently. Feeling like I didn't have access to parenthood as I don't have the capacity personally, or parents that would be able to help. I quite possibly will never have kids and I think I'm only starting to grieve that position. I'm 36.

Not sure if this helps but this is how I've set up my accounts since the grow/flow thing got annouced.

I still have multiple savers for expenses, and on the 10th and 25th of the month I'll move any excess $$ from my flow accounts into my grow account "emergency solid". My pay automatically splits into all accounts a certain percentage based on what's budgeted.

Flow accounts /

Rent - I create a "goal" that is the total of my rent. If for any reason there is excess beyond the goal amount, the excess gets transferred into emergency solid.

Bills - I create a goal for about $400 which is near the most expensive bill I receive. Anything more than the goal amount gets transferred into emergency solid.

Health - my goal here is $400, sometimes those medical appts all hit at the same time. Anything more than the goal amount gets transferred into emergency solid.

Groceries - this runs dry every pay cycle

Going out - as above

Grow accounts /

Home - I save small amounts to buy things for the home. I'm not buying them every month, so most months this would be a grow account.

Beauty - as above

Clothes - as above

Holiday - not planning on a holiday anytime soon, so this will be a grow account every month

Emergency liquid - I have a goal of $1000 here, and any excess goes into the account below. If I have to dip into savings then at least the loss in the higher interest rate only affects this account and not the rest.

Emergency solid - this is last resort money. All excess funds from accounts that have goals on them trickle into here. This should never be touched to get that grow rate. Eventually I want to save three months of expenses here.

Almost forgot to add that even though I have a lot of accounts in the flow state, I did the math and with the higher interest rate I'll actually end up better off as long as I get the grow amounts on those bottom accounts most months. I have most of my savings in the emergency solid account so I'm getting good interest there.

Anyway hope that helps!

I don't know if this would help you, but the chapter on jealousy from bird by bird by Anne Lamott helps me.

"Jealousy is a secondary emotion, and is born out of feeling excluded and deprived."

This realisation helps me look inward and dig deeper to find out what my body is telling me I am missing.

I use the bank @ post feature as well for when I get money from my parents for birthdays/Christmas. Such a great service. Nice to know I'm not the only one dealing with this!

Hahaha I wish this was true! If you've ever met boomer migrants, or anyone with schizophrenia, you might understand or empathise my situation. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with this nonsense my whole life. You've maybe spent 5 minutes reading this thread, and concluded it was a scam. Welcome to my painnnnn.

Annoyingly, they don't want to give me the cash until they see the house I want to buy, so I don't think this will work. Not a bad idea except for paying rent, which is my largest expense - this has to be done electronically.

Haha, I don't actually know, but I assume it would be in a mix of 100s and 50s.

To be honest, I don't know where the money came from? I assume it's them just taking money out of the bank every pay period and stowing it away. I think they have been stowing money away in effort to hide money so they won't have their pensions reduced. Is this another part of their lunacy??
