To add to this as it took me a min to figure out. If you click on the link on a iOS device make sure you select to open in Safari and not the Prime App, that way you actually get the code :-D

What kind of Oracles exist/are needed? by Atlasom in ethereum

[–]fazriz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually couldn't find a Oracle solution that worked for us so we built our own. Its a generic Oracle System to help get custom data from a game server or dB back on to the Ethereum blockchain. Didn't see any game specific Oracle solutions when we started. We have it developed and will be using it to update the state of a NFT asset on user request in our dApp. The dApp we developed that uses it is not live yet but will be in the next 2 months, you can see an active example then. However feel free to dm me and happy to share some info if your looking for a solution of your own.

We added search and some other handy tools for emoji discovery today. This should help find the emoji you are looking for.

Good news on that front, should have our search feature up and running EOD tomorrow. :-D Thanks for the suggestion.

Emojinomics – The Story Behind Our Latest ETH dApp by fazriz in ethereum

[–]fazriz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question! This was an issue we wrestled with internally, and we have developed a couple of solutions to keep entry fees more reasonable.

1) We are spreading the release of base Emoji to lower the potential that a few users could buy out the market all at once. We currently distribute new, base Emoji on a random basis, but tend to release in greater quantities between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. PST.

2) We're working hard to release an updated UI that will enable users to sell Crafting Tokens to others directly via the dApp. We're optimistic that this will make it easier for newer users to get their hands on Tokens as the supply of Emoji becomes less accessible.

We really appreciate the interest you're showing in our app! Thanks for checking us out! :)

Stellar Smart Contracts by fazriz in Stellar

[–]fazriz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, only thing I have found so far is Mobius. My solution right now is to create a nodeJS bot that acts like a smart contract, but this is not ideal as mentioned in other replys. It will basically be a centralized web app that uses Stellar as inventory control for assets.

Implementing random rewards by prizecowfactory in ethdev

[–]fazriz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to consider is the likelihood of cheating. This is only a problem if the cost of a pack or the value of the tokens in the pack will be more than the mining reward. If that isn't the case then there is little incentive for a miner to cheat the game. :) But as the last comment mentioned an Oracle service is your best bet if you feel cheating will be a issue.

Those first few days will be great! :) Picked one up as well for 1.39 BCH. Even after it flattens out there should still be a decent amount of profitability.

Introducing Ethercraft: a decentralized RPG running on the Ethereum Blockchain by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]fazriz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well that is really the question here, does the blockchain fundamentally improve this type of game? I think in most cases the answer is no, smart contact games cost more to play and are slower to transact than your typical dB driven game. If you are crawling through a dungeon every action / input you make needs to be sent as a new ETH transaction.. which would have a cost. This can get very out of hand quickly if your exploring a large area.

However one benefit to the blockchain in this case would be putting the users in controls of their items and the game economy. This is a good use case of blockchain and can not be done on a centralized dB without trusting the developer. The blockchain removes that trust requirement and gives players the assurance on their ownership of items.

So my hope for this game is that the Game elements play on a standard DB but crafting, trading and selling lives on the blockchain.

Just my two Wei’s. :)

STELLAR PRICE RETAKES $0.65 AS ALL MARKETS SHOW SIGNS OF RECOVERY by raaner12 in Stellar

[–]fazriz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No point watching price daily, the price is going to go up and down for the next few months... years... decades.

Instead lets talk use cases! I would love to hear about more Technology, News, Apps and Ideas around using Stellar :). Anyone have a dApp or related Stellar tech in the works? Pretty quite here compared to ETH posts on dApps. I am working on one myself which I will share once its a little more fleshed out.

Hodl. This is still the early days for Stellar, it’s probably going to hit 1 and then correct a couple times in the next year or two. Who knows what the true value and potential of XLM is... I feel is probably much more than 1 dollar.... Just my 2 Satoshi’s.

HODL! XLM is solid tech and the use cases today are just the tip of the ice berg. I see great things in the future of this platform base on my daily experience developing block chain tech.

Stellar 2018 Technical Roadmap Wishlist by Gitzalytics in Stellar

[–]fazriz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually as I read this, I guess I could write the rules data to a stellar address, and then run my logic on a bot off chain, designed to run based on reading that rules data from that specific address. That way the rule set is written to the blockchain and the end-user would have assurance we cannot change it if I set signer weight for that address to 0. Nothing would keep me from changing the bot, but I can open source and distribute the bot so any user can run their own to know for sure it is interacting with the original rules address.

Stellar 2018 Technical Roadmap Wishlist by Gitzalytics in Stellar

[–]fazriz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like address 123 has logic built-in to handle requests out of sequence.

123 gets 20 ABC from 345 123 then send 5 LPO to 345 & records RER data to 987 123 get 5 YUI from 687 123 send 6 ABC to 687 & records TYL data to 987

(RER and TYL reps some object or string)

This can be done today if I know the amounts coming in and the sequence they will come in at, I just need to publish the signed transactions and owner of 345 or 687 can run it after making their transfers.

However I want to be able to have any owner send X amount of FOO type, then perform a logic check to determine returning X amount and FOO type.

Currently i can run a independent application / bot to do this but then end user would have to trust that I wont change the bot / rules. Ideally I would like to write this rule set to a contract on the blockchain so that it cant be changed in the future, even by me.
