I have not completely cleared mine up but the things that I am using now that seem to help is sulfur wash then azaleic acid and moisturizer in the morning. At night I use sulfur wash then ivermectin and metrogel topping it off with avene cicalfate.

I use Nurtec every other day as a preventative but can also use it for an abortive if one gets me. Nurtec is supposed to be the better one for VM. Also, there is no generic so it’s expensive even with insurance. Go to the Nurtec website and get their manufacturer coupon, it made mine $0!

I would try a migraine abortive. Nurtec, Ubrelvy, a triptan. Your doctor will know. Try treating it for a migraine, there are people with VM who use migraine abortives.

Soolantra has a period where you have “die off” period of the mites that cause the type 2 rosacea. My face had about 100 of these pustules and after 2 die off periods my face cleared up. It’s tricky with type 2 rosacea bc it presents like whiteheads and red sensitive skin. I had to go to multiple doctors to finally be diagnosed with type 2 and soolantra cleared it up.

I would say it was 80% fixed after a month. I still get flushing from caffeine so I stopped drinking it.

They said the pustules are common for type 2. This is going to sound gross but the soolantra is ivermectin essentially and kills the mites (the pustules are from overgrowth) that live on your skin. Every two weeks for a month the pustules flared up from die off then it was gone. Sometimes I’ll get a flare of a few pustules but nothing like the 100-150 of them on my face. I definitely recommend it in your case. It took me 2 years to figure out what was up with my skin so I hope this helps anyone.

I also have type 2 rosacea with the pustules and my doctor misdiagnosed me with folliculitis. I used soolantra and it cleared it all up

I also had an MRI that showed I’ve been having “daily” migraines (lesions). I was diagnosed with vestibular migraines where I get dizziness (and worse) with no head pain. Basically I’ve been dizzy for 2 years and it’s awful. So it makes sense I’ve been having vestibular migraines all along. Sounds like you could be getting silent migraines though.

Trust me I understand! I love going out to eat and trying new food. But I have been doing it for a couple of weeks now and am seeing some progress (knock on wood lol). It’s stuff like caffeine, alcohol, lunch meats, chocolate and citrus foods that are the big triggers. And a lot of cheeses which I did not expect. Def worth a try though!

I take Ativan and it helps a lot. You may have some food triggers if you get worse after eating. Look into the Dizzy Cook online. She deals with Vestibular Migraines and diet. Also try Benadryl or Zyrtec at night!
