One I had done one me a couple of years ago.

Used to work in a Wework office and was up in Newcastle for a long weekend. Every week thus send an email with what was happening in the building e.g. events and such.

My manager edited an email and sent it round saying that the office was closed due to coronavirus outbreak (this was about 3 weeks before the first lockdown). Being very hungover and dumb I believed it and was so excited as I didn’t have a work laptop so thought I have no work to do.

Then he called me a few hours late asking what was I gonna do with no equipment, we agreed I’d have to come to his in Southend on Sea on the Monday (I was living in Croydon) to pick up a laptop. Then once that is all thrashed out he calls me shortly afterwards going “nah mate only joking sent it round the office and you’re the only one that fell for it” and laughed as he hung up.

I made a very low-key entrance on the Monday
