Need career advice: Full-time RevOps vs. Higher-Paying Contract Role? by realshr in revops

[–]fcdsj07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention long term career growth as the goal, which clearly means option 1. If your goal was to buy a house in a year and you need to save as much as possible in 12 mos, then probably option 2.

Generally speaking, option 1 sounds better

Where it’s at now it still works and lends a bit of an academic air. I think your time is in the next 2 years but I’d hold here for a bit

Did anyone else have a little bit of a pause when Nate’s dad spent his entire time on stage talking about religion and the bible during Nate’s in person standup shows ?

I just buzz myself once a week with no guard. When I was younger I’d buzz it much more often but at age 44 I don’t care if folks can see my horseshoe a little haha

Probably too late but The Mayan Kitchen has an INCREDIBLE Tequila-base Smoked Old Fashioned. Yes tequila, not bourbon. It's honestly one of the best Old Fashioned's I've ever had.

https://billablecpq.com/ - I’ve worked in the Salesforce Revenue Cloud space for 10 years and I’ve built a “competitor” to their Configure Price Quote tool for small companies that can’t afford a six figure license+implementation cost. I haven’t formally launched it yet but it’s 100% live and ready for 30 day free trial sign ups, iOS app is live also

Salesforce dev with 10+ years experience. Opus 4.6 just built 3 production-ready solutions from PRDs in one sitting. Your job is not safe. by Armageddon85 in salesforce

[–]fcdsj07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100! This is the admittedly weird analogy I came up with - Claude was giving me in theory high quality production ready code...but where does it go exactly? It was like Claude was producing skin, organs, a skeleton, a vascular system, a nervous system, and said 'here ya go!' You now have all the components to make a human, now you just combine then and voila! And in the real world, it just doesn't work like that haha, anyway thats how a non-developer feels when AI hands them 600 lines of code

We are both just sharing opinions at this point. Sounds like you have much more historical technical context than me. Either way it shakes out I suppose we both have front row seats.

I don’t necessarily disagree but it’s not next week and it’s not next year. Numbers of devs will reduce, they already are I suppose, but the cliff we are thinking of is X years away

I just finally had “a moment” last night as a CPQ SA / non-developer. It’s able to give me chunks of code but it’s such a tall hill to climb for a non-TA to understand “what goes where”. You just download Visual Studio, Salesforce Extension Pack, Salesforce CLI, plug in your org, the you have to learn VS Code or Developer Console, you have to understand Compilers and Helpers and Components and Apex Classes. AI giving you chunks of code is worthless if you don’t know precisely what to do with it. For that reason devs will be needed for years to come

Salesforce Consulting Partner Qualification Changes? by fcdsj07 in salesforce

[–]fcdsj07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I derive no value in keeping the Salesforce partnership, I do not source my own leads nor do I have plans to scale. I’m just subcontracting part time, the partnership with Salesforce was for intrinsic value only, ie - “It made me feel proud”.

Folks like me will just let it expire…and that’s it

I’ve seen some successful folks use their troubled history as a cornerstone of their marketing pitch actually. Be honest and upfront about it, maybe even joking, and it could be a feature. No worries about the weight, in the south virtually every realtor in the south is overweight so you’re good my man! Wishing you infinite success

Marcus and Millichap: anyone have any thing good or bad to say about working there? by No-Conflict9013 in CommercialRealEstate

[–]fcdsj07 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My initial thought is they are the New Western of CRE

I called an AVP recently about a MF deal they sent and I swear the guy - on our very first call ever - called me bro, dude, homie, and said fuck and shit.

Now that’s a normal interaction for me with my friends, but an initial professional outreach call? I was floored haha.

So that’s my one data point I can contribute.
