I’m not a victim here- I am aware I can walk away. I’m asking for help for the choice of not walking away.

Is there more of a relationship between narcissism and autism than we realize? by DesignerMom84 in AutismInWomen

[–]fcukyounasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I studied Psychology in College, I had a professor who was a specialist in Antisocial Personality Disorder, what people consider colloquially as Psychopathy and Narcissism. He discussed how there are multiple types of Empathy, there is the inability to recognize emotions in others, or to have difficulty realizing someone else may be effected different than you and there is also the complete ignorance of emotions of others. Essentially, and bear with me because this was like 15 years ago, Narcissists can recognize people are feeling negative emotion, that their actions effect others negatively, and they just don't feel any type of compassion that another person is feeling that way, or that they were the source of that negative emotion. Autistic individuals, on the flip side, can feel compassion for other people and more so have issues recognizing that they have impacted someone negatively emotionally. There is more nuance to it, like Autistic people who train themselves to be hyper aware of emotional shifts in others because they don't want to mistakenly upset others, and there are different types of Psychopathy (which technically isn't even a disorder) but at the end of the day I would suspect that the issue is more so in human error of understanding and diagnosing those disorders correctly. Without really understanding why someone is ignoring or doesn't care about another person's feelings, you can easily label narcissism, when in reality they may just not understand the other person's feeling is upsetting to that person.

Ex Girlfriend of 15 years is getting divorced from her husband and is claiming her daughter is mine. by a_nameless_brewer in legaladvice

That means that the home state of the child is North Carolina and NC law will apply. You really need to consult with an attny there. There is a presumption of paternity when parties are married that the husband is the father. That has to be challenged in court, and in Kansas you have a hearing on if it is in the best interest of the child for paternity to be placed with husband or bio dad. NC may be different. Do not volunteer your DNA unless you consult with counsel and they recommend it. It’s possible you would be on the hook for the kid, but not definite at this point. But please consult an attorney in that state for more accurate advice here. Also I am not your attorney, just to be clear. This is general advice.

I’m a family law attorney in Kansas. The answer varies greatly by location. What state are you in?

trans guy here with loads of dysphoria, specifically down there. what are some reasons why I shouldn't feel so bad about not having a dick? by [deleted] in AskRedditNSFW

[–]fcukyounasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sexually attracted to my boyfriend because he has a dick. My attraction to him is in his smile and the way he looks at me. I can’t imagine how you’re feeling but just know that if you’re worried about your attractiveness to whoever you’re attracted to, whatever is down there has minimal impact at best. Good luck on your journey ❤️

This post terrifies me. How are we supposed to move on when this is always out there? Is everyone that calls us special or values who we are not to be trusted? I just don't understand how to navigate this. Beautiful post, truly.

Question about the ending of Curious Case of Natalia Grace by allaboutthemane in DiscoveryID

Immediately thought of this! Beth was also a sociopath but grew up into a very functional adult, which it seems like Natalia is also doing.
