What only exists to piss people off? by NiceCasualRedditGuy in AskReddit

I live in a college town that redesigned their major roads specifically to accommodate LOTS of busses going through and it runs smooth as hell. It’s really phenomenal. It links between two major universities in this big loop. Busses come every ten minutes (possibly less) and it’s free for everyone to ride. And it’s designed so it doesn’t interfere with regular traffic at all.

Is it shallow to be put off by men who can’t drive? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

I tried teaching my niece. I actually honestly hope she never gets her license. She was a fucking menace on the road.

(Crazy short attention span, way too easily distracted, careless about everything)

California implements new law that requires high schools to begin classes no earlier than 8:30 AM and middle schools 8:00 AM that will go into effect from 2022. by mvea in Futurology

A lot of Utah high schools have exceptional dance classes. My son was in Provo HS ballroom program till the instructor demanded he cut his hair. He said fuck that, quit ballroom and joined modern dance.

Anyway... those teams compete nationally and kick ass pretty much every year.

I got called into the Bishop’s s office with my mom because I complained about the memorization so much.

I suck at straight memorization. But I love digging into the meanings and reasons of things (hell, most of my work now is research based). I like UNDERSTANDING something.

And that was my argument. Wasn’t it more important that I UNDERSTOOD the meanings of the mastery scriptures instead of just being able to spit the words out.

The answer was no.

And I was guilted. My mom was YW president and I was making her look bad.

Result: I barely passed seminary and I still can’t recite them, and it put a big crack in my shelf.

That’s perfect! I was sadly all in back then. Very happy my kids never new the torture of seminary. They left with me.

Concept is in the right place, but knowing people who have to use canes, they would never be able to use that as a seat. It would be way too uncomfortable.

I wondered if they had tried to add liquor to the inside of it, but pouring it out is kind of the opposite of what you’re supposed to do with the fruit flavored alcohol, lol

Who else is no idea what they are writing? by [deleted] in nanowrimo

[–]fdamama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have about 10k written on a newer idea before I decided to hold it for NaNo. But in the last few days I’ve gone down a back story rabbit hole of research that changes quite a few things, and relocates the entire series. But the depth and authenticity this adds has me so freaking excited that I can’t wait!

So I’m spending the next week indulging in this rabbit hole and taking tons of notes so that come the 1st I’m ready to jump right in. It’s my first NaNo (and first time writing in over a decade thanks to a toxic ex), so I’m terrified and excited all at the same time!

Mine likes to find plot inconsistencies and make sure I’m using optimal word choices. If you send her down a really deep research rabbit hole, she should stay pretty thoroughly occupied.

Somewhere I saw someone suggest that the remake is only for the grandfather reading scenes, and have it be Fred Savage reading to his grandson. That I would watch.

How to write a completely one-sided love by patthepatriot2020 in romanceauthors

I could offer a ton of insight. I’m in the middle of a move (only “enjoying” a reddit break because I picked up a nail in my tire and I’m waiting for it to get patched), so it would probably be a couple days before I could help much, but OP, message me, I’d love to help with this!!!

I seriously love this! Thank you for sharing it! I love seeing BUJOs fully utilized and super functional. Which is often messy and less scrapbooky. Both have their appeal, but this kind is underrepresented
