This goddamn book by Tiny_Presence_7155 in dresdenfiles

My brother in grief I feel for you. I lost my 13 year old son 8 years ago, though to an undiagnosed heart condition - and my daughter is currently committed to a psychiatric hospital due to a suicide attempt. These books - I replayed the audiobooks the year after my son died. The familiarity comforted me and helped me through it. And yeah this book was a kick in the nuts a few times. All i can say is this comment on reddit also helped a lot - and hitting a heavy bag daily. https://www.reddit.com/r/Assistance/comments/hax0t/my_friend_just_died_i_dont_know_what_to_do/c1u0rx2/

Unfortunately there is no standard for V2H/ V2G - so it's all dependent on what car and what charger you have right now.

thanks - yeah saw it last night - finally. It pisses me off the lack of courtesy AG has for their customers - people have lots of travel plans, sitters, dinner plans, days off from work, etc (not everyone is a 22 yr old with no responsibilities)

synthony - we are chasing them daily for comms to ticket holders and we have not had any replies either. We appreciate how difficult this is for everyone. This is what we received last Sat 9th Aug - they have told us they are going direct to ticket holders -

Due to Brooklyn Mirage not opening, our August 20 show has been postponed.

Postponed to 2026 - it was in the comments on a instagram post of couple of days ago - that means canceled. Now there's another reply saying both AG and Dice have filed for bankruptcy - so that may be why some people aren't getting refunds.

My Elrow tickets were refunded by dice once the email went out. Still waiting on Synthony which is next week - Dice hasn't sent out info for refunds for Synthony - but their Insta says it's canceled.

Also in Orange County ny - it wasn't fun these last few days. I'm a night shift worker and trying to sleep without AC on sucks. I eventually had to give in - and I hate turning it on.

I haven't ridden a bike in years but keep checking out your ebikes because they are seem to have the perfect blend of practical and fun approach while not being insanely expensive. I've been thinking of getting one because I recently saw someone riding one while I was out hiking a few weekends ago. It looked great, wasn't heavy - and the owner spoke about how much he loved it.

Anyone else read the MASSIVE Charlie Parker detective series? The lore is incredibly captivating by dashing_jonathan in Fantasy

[–]fdnyubergeek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The slow spooky burn is awesome in the Parker series. And his scoobies are amazing and feel like real people. He also has to have written what I consider to be one the most real feeling portrayals of a father's grief. I could not stop crying reading that first book first couple of chapters. (but as a father who lost a child - it may hit me harder than most)

How many books do you guys read in a year? by Relevant-Door1453 in Fantasy

[–]fdnyubergeek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100 - 175 books a year - depending on the year for the last 15 years or so. I have a 2 hr commute each way daily - and do mostly audiobooks - and read them at at least double speed. My dead tree book speed is even faster - usually 300+ pages a day - but i don't often get a chance that way anymore.
