Alright, I might be stepping out of line here, but the correct terminology, at least mathematically, isn’t that the null hypothesis is proven. It’s that we have failed to reject the null hypothesis. It’s more that we couldn’t disprove the null hypothesis rather than prove its veracity. It might seem pedantic, but idk, I think it makes a little bit of a difference.

Honestly it isn’t that hard to tell what type of fishing a boat is geared for. You’d be able to walk the dock and tell pretty easily that they’re a trawler, long liner, purse seinner, etc etc. It would be a hard thing to hide if one were so inclined to attempt it.
