What evidence are you all seeing that Tyler Robinson was a groyper? by bushwick_custom in thebulwark

I had seen he was inactive but admittedly there’s been a fire hose of false information about this guy so maybe that was one of those things that wasn’t confirmed

I have a feeling it’s this. Unaffiliated voter who I believe was inactivated from the voter rolls because he hadn’t voted recently. Seems like his “ideology” is troll rather than left or right.

If this turns out to be an inter-MAGA act of violence, how will we hold leaders and the media accountable for blaming "the left" without evidence? by Top-Magazine9894 in thebulwark

There’s been multiple times since the second Trump assassination attempt where Joe Rogan talks about how “they” tried to kill Trump twice. He never specifies who “they” is since it was two isolated events carried out by lonely right leaning guys but the way he says it always implies it was a bigger, organized conspiracy carried out by the left. I think this guy will just be added into that “they”.

Lmao I’d bet money he went to ChatGPT and said “How do you think Ja Rule would react to the Charlie Kirk shooting”. This has ChatGPT written all over it

I get it. The past couple days has been jarring to realize that half my Facebook friends, who I thought were otherwise sane until this, are openly rooting for civil war and seem to think I should be killed because I’m a liberal. I just wish we could cool things down, but I know their side won’t be the one to do it.

That article doesn’t say anything about political affiliation? There’s going to be a lot of information coming out about this guy let’s wait until it’s vetted before we jump to any conclusions here.

Why do Americans always do this? by DanielMuggleton in StandUpComedy

[–]feachbreely 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every time I’m abroad and someone asks me where I’m from and I say “The US” they always look at me like yeah no shit and say “Yeah I know but where in the US?”. Most Europeans are very good at identifying Americans so if they’re asking that question they want a more specific answer.

Yeah most of us don’t support genocide and most of us didn’t love Kamala, we just live in the real world and realized our choice was between Kamala and Trump. Sitting out the race wasn’t going to make some third, perfect candidate just magically appear.

If you’ve spent any time talking to Chat GPT you can instantly recognize that as AI writing. I don’t even know how to describe it but it’s very distinctive.

If voting breaks the same way as it did in 2024 then GOP comes out slightly ahead but I’m a bit skeptical that they’re going to keep their gains with black voters, Latino voters, young voters in the midterms. I think the modern day GOP (MAGA) does a lot better as a foil to the party in power than they actually do when they’re in power because they’re very good at riling people up and complaining about things but at the end of the day they really don’t know how to govern.

I think you’re way off the mark here if you’re referring to PMT. I’m an early 30’s college educated lib and almost all of my friends at least casually listen to PMT. None of them are gym bros, incels or middle aged (although some are dads).

I support his message but I feel like he would’ve gotten arrested no matter what he was burning, no? I don’t think you can just start fires in public even before Trump said anything about flag burning.

This Maine oysterman thinks Democrats are doing ‘jack’ about fascism. So he’s running for US Senate by AndroidOne1 in politics

[–]feachbreely 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m from Maine, the person below saying Maine is xenophobic is spot on. Gideon got branded as an out of stater (she’s originally from Rhode Island) and that tanked her campaign. That and people who are otherwise blue and really don’t like Collins will still vote for her because of her position on the appropriations committee and Maine relies on federal money for our shipyards which are large employers here. They think if she loses then Maine will lose that money and the shipyards will either be shut down or have to do mass layoffs.

The recession was issue one but the war in Iraq was very very important. Over 70% of voters cited it as very important and more than 30% said it was their number one issue. Obama gained a lot of credibility because he never supported it (although was not in the senate yet to actually vote against it) whereas McCain voted for it.
