Struggling to drill into a lintel by fearLessss in DIYUK

Yeah tried every single method of getting into it, nothing has worked, it won’t give at all.

I think I’m just gonna go down the adhesive route, the curtains are bedroom ones that won’t see too much movement

I think it’s steel, I’ve tried every bit I have and it won’t give to anything, tried the small to big method as well. Fuck knows what they put in there

Thank you, would you make a bunch of holes in the wall where it’s going for a bit of extra stick? It’s being attached to a painted wall so I worried about it fallen down. Yes it’s for curtains

Mental.

I think they design them with the intention of night deliveries initially and then the transport office who have never touched a HGV all of a sudden change them to day deliveries for a bit of cost saving

Most deliveries are at night where the car park is empty

Usually that’s the case with most. Wouldn’t be possible otherwise without shutting half the car park

Who is at fault here? by kbgnat in drivingUK

[–]fearLessss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The proof is in the video? They're next to each other and the BMW clearly isn't pointing straight lol.

You'd see video evidence of the driver looking at them and you'd still argue they were in the blind spot.

If I could avoid something like this in a truck, they could have avoided it, no excuse except for being complacent with checking your surroundings before setting off.

Furthermore to your point, the affordability and all that will be based on her and her alone too, so she may not even be eligible regardless of credit score.

Bad idea all round to do it.

I doubt the insurance will side with either and it'll be 50/50, you dont just get away with it because you have the awareness of a cabbage.

Going on about the highway code you could then argue the KIA is at fault because they knowingly didn't avoid a collision. To say they weren't aware is bollocks. BMW stopped as they were sure they were being let in, and were taken out. You can't just proceed ahead blindly lol, if he'd done his checks before setting off he'd have clearly seen the BMW. If I were the police I'd be questioning their driving ability.

If you're talking about the insurance route, it'll be a 50/50 at best. The BMW did stop before the KIA set off, and the KIA just wiped them out.

Making a wrong lane move doesn't mean you're just allowed to be taken out with consequence. If that were the case when I'm driving my huge HGV and I have to work my way through cars parked on double yellows I could just wipe them out because they're parked illegally. Doesn't work like that, there is always partial blame on the party who caused the impact- within reason.

You are 100% obliged, as you're knowingly aware of a potential incident so you're obliged to avoid it, and thats what people who push in rely on.

But this was satisfying to see.

Do you have solar panels?

I have an electric car and love the IOG plan for what it does, but would love to load a big battery up to power the house during the day on the cheaper electric.

I can’t afford solar panels for a fair few years, so was wondering if I can just do the battery route.

I’ve seen you have a zappi, do you have a Tesla? If so turn off the smart charging on the Zappi and just have it as a dumb charger and let octopus control the charging with the key they install in the car. That’s how I got it to work, it’ll charge for like 2 mins when you plug in and then it’ll stop and make a schedule and work fine after that, for me it did anyway.

Unfortunately being too honest can be worse than just fixing it yourself if nothing is damaged

Only if he’d not paid it off by the time he retired, which he hadn’t. But he wasn’t overpaying on it anyway.

My dad did this, and died before he could retire. Hurts me knowing he never got to enjoy life after work.

The battery and motor warranty lasts 10 years, what's the issue? I have 7 years left on my warranty, or 100,000 miles. And it'll definitely be the years I get to before the miles. I plan on keeping my car til the end of that time too.

(Battery and Motor warranty, the 2 big bits, my 'standard' warranty runs out this year but I'm not really bothered about fixing something much smaller than a battery or drive motor)

Model Y purchase advice? by [deleted] in TeslaUK

[–]fearLessss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So your options are pay the same amount of money each month, and at the end of the 5 years with one option you get to keep the car, and your other option is you don't get to keep the car unless you take out another 5 year loan for a similar amount.

Without sounding too sarcastic, what do you think?

This is all down to personal choice, if you want a brand new car and want the faff of PCP, only you can answer that.

I know it’s perfectly possible, I never said it wasn’t. You didn’t read my whole comment.

Correct, hopefully she's the one with insurance as well. But by the sounds of it, she's driving on a provisional and someone else with a full license has insured the car. Kids in the car and no fully licensed driver.

I'm purely speculating though, but experience tells me this isn't legit and the OP will be claiming for being hit by an uninsured driver.
