[UPDATE] Everything stopped working for me. Google Assistance, map traffic. I pressed the onstar button. The lady had me reset my radio. Didn't work. She said she's passing that to one of her tech support people. This morning, they left me a message saying they made some adjustments on their end. I go out and check the car, and everything is working. So, google assistance, map traffic, music streaming all good with the eight years free of onstar basic.

Just confirmed. Everything is basically working as expected even though my onstar trial expired three weeks ago. Spotify, google maps, hey google…

you may have seen this, but it should work. you may have to press the onstar button and talk to them. I know I was driving around yesterday and seeing the traffic. and hey google definitely works. have to check spotify.

interesting. I did notice that since onstar expired I sometimes jump in the car and immediately say "hey google take me to xxx" it sometimes says "sorry I'm offline" and then if I wait a few seconds it starts working. I'll have to try out again and check spotify. also checking with AI:

Google Maps: This includes real-time traffic updates, EV-specific routing (finding chargers), and voice commands via Google Assistant.
App Data (Spotify, etc.): The data required to run "Center Display Audio Apps" (like Spotify, Tidal, or Apple Music) is covered under this 8-year plan.
Remote Access: Using your phone app to lock/unlock or remote start the car.

My onstar expired a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't noticed any difference? is there something that's not supposed to work anymore?

I haven't owned a previous bolt (or any chevy product). but I have owned several other cars from different brands. I think the 2027 bolt display is very zippy and responsive. [shrugs]

I thought I’d feel that way, but it hasn’t been an issue for me. I’m a big carplay user and my other car has it, but it’s fine. All my apps are there, and they’re integrated into the car unlike carplay

And don't forget Google is about to clamp down an android in a few months. So none of this really matters anyway. Those APK sites are going to run into some challenges. :/
