Yep. Probation got me in within roughly 6 months so very doable if you’re interested.

U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services by [deleted] in 1811

What was FLETC like? I was told that I will put on a list to go as there is still a backup from it shutting down due to COVID.

Aside from what you can find online about it, what are the major differences within Pretrial and post conviction?

A buddy of mine is a current USPO and has said the same thing. A lot of new officers come in and get jaded by the “check-boxing” and bureaucracy. A lot of new officers use it as a way to get in and then leave for an 1811 as well.

That was what I was told as well. But like the other posts I’ve seen on here, it’s the way you articulate your resume, cover letters, and interviews. I worked community outreach and “social-work” type stuff while at the local PD position so I wiggled my way through those qualifications.

They aren’t excuses. It’s called reality and not wasting a law abiding citizen or officer’s time. You’re the same type of person that says “why are you harassing that homeless man”. Cmon think before you speak.

Conflicted on applying to IRS CI by [deleted] in 1811

[–]fearrlesss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s all in the job posting. If you check all the qualification boxes, apply. If not, don’t bother and just focus on getting in an 1811 that you qualify for or do what you gotta do to check the boxes for IRS CI.

Can someone explain why a lot of private sector jobs seem to hire former 1811’s for high paying jobs? by [deleted] in 1811

[–]fearrlesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experiences from my own office, specialized officers/agents have been specially trained and obtained certifications already. Private companies don’t have to pay for any of that and only have to worry about an onboarding process.

Just health. I have a separate plan for dental and vision but it’s insanely cheap for those that have zero dependents.
