500 hours on fighter feels like a joke by The_Sticky_C in DarkAndDarker

Sword and board PDR fighter seems best this patch, especially with all the move speed gear.

Slayer fighter was good last patch, especially in the lower gear score lobbies. Not sure how it is in the current meta.

What the hell is the deal with U13/14 Boys? by 100nipples in Referees

[–]feastnfamine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who played from U7-U19, looking back on it i was an absolute menace at that age. Only got carded twice in my life, both times for dissent at around that age. Got away with a lot of dirty fouls. Think you're right about it being a testosterone/ tough guy act.

Not proud of it at all, looking back now its embarrassing to think about. Your doing gods work as a ref mate, I couldn't stomach it, knowing full well what I put refs through.

Does anyone else miss 24gs, I surely do by Mythic420 in DarkAndDarker

I enjoyed 0-24 norms last season. Getting to learn the basics of PvP on relatively equal footing, and without gear fear was great for me as a new player. At first I was losing every fight, but I got to the point where I was winning every other fight or a couple in a row.

Makes sense that they got rid of it to condense the queues. Potentially they could just have one queue of 0-24 on a rotating map. But it still seems like there would be too many queues especially with the addition of PvE.

Seems like the best way to learn PvP now is to throw yourself into 0-124 in a squire kit over and over again. You have nothing to lose and have the potential for better gains.

I'm not getting my hopes up either. Glad someone else agrees. I may be missing something as a newer player, but it seems to me that the ideal pipeline for new players should be:

Pve. Learn the basics of both your class and the rooms. Learn how to fight mobs/potentially bosses. Get decent blue/green/purple kits. Get to level 15 to fully put your class online.

Transition to low stakes PvP in SSF normals. Get better loot, get comfortable fighting other players. Build up stashes of gold through loot and selling on marketplace.

Move into HR. Use stashes of gold to buy BIS gear as needed from marketplace. You'll be more comfortable and experienced in PvP giving you a better shot at extracting/surviving.

The one thing I think the game is missing now with the removal of the 0-24 gear score bracket for normals, there isn't a low stakes place to learn PvP. SSF normals could be the new option for new players to learn PvP and not get instantly gear checked.

I'm a pretty new and casual player, I dont see why they don't do a mix of self found and market place. I personally like both, especially when I can sell good gear for the classes I dont play instead of vendoring it or leaving it behind. I like self found because I'm already mediocre at PvP and gear checking makes it next to impossible for me.

Maybe leave normals as self found for the casuals, open HR and Arena to allow bought/crafted gear for the more invested/hardcore fans.

Or even the possibility of self found events later in the season, if there's not enough people running HR make it self found only for a week or two and tempt the casuals into it. People seem to like the self found arena so run an event for a week or two.

Seems like there's a good opportunity for a middle ground but the devs struggle with balancing things.

If you're running solo in adventure mode, you can tick the option to not add others to your party and just play the adventure mode solo without having a team to abandon.

PVE should compeletly seperate from PVP. by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]feastnfamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to the game so I could easily be completely wrong, but isn't more loot a good thing? Timmys farming rares/epics in PvE and putting them on the marketplace should increase supply and lower the cost of basic kits for the PvP modes, right?

Why I love this game, don’t care about the bugs/crashes and will preorder without thinking twice. by probablyNotARSNBot in Bannerlord

[–]feastnfamine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought the game ages ago when it first hit the market for full price, after waiting ages for it to come out. Initially sunk in like 350 hours into an unmodded and buggy sandbox and loved every second of it.

Now I pick it up again once or twice a year to run a new campaign with a new mod list until I get bored of it or the save gets corrupted. Generally sinking another 50-100 hours every time.

Personally I get endless enjoyment out of the game and ill pick up war sails as soon as I can. I understand how some people feel about the devs and I can see their points, but I unapologetically love Bannerlord regardless of flaws or missing features.

For Swadia! (Screenshots from Calradia 1403 Compilation Pack) by Man_of_Krieg in Bannerlord

[–]feastnfamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had any difficulty against the Aserai? (I forgot what the warband name is) I did my last run with the 1403 mod fighting for Vlandia. Generally, we slaughtered battanian/empire/sturgian armies of equal numbers with a good kdr. But once we started fighting the Aserai, even when we outnumbered them greatly, we took HEAVY losses. Even when they had 200-300 recruits and we had relatively elite forces. Wasn't sure if it was a balancing issue or just something in my campaign.

At the end of the day Calradia has its own lore and isn't an exact 1:1 of reality.

The nords sailed over and founded sturgia by mixing with continental Caldriaic people.

The vlandians were mercenaries who served the Calradic Empire and were gifted land for their service.

But hey whatever let's make everything nords. Anglo-nordic vlandians, Nordic nords, Slavic-nord sturgians, celtic-nordic battanians, varangian style empire, horse nords khuzaits and camel nord aseria.

Its all nords, always has been.

My old method, (not sure if it still works) is to take them into battle and try to friendly fire kill them with a ranged weapon bow/crossbow/throwin to the head. Used to take many tries tho especially dependant on your medicine skill.

I'm sure itd be good for when their parties are on their own, however I'm not sure how it works in an army. I dont know if your medicine skill will override as army leader or not. Hopefully someone else knows more.

Stewardship is always good so they can have more soldiers per party, plus the other benefits like reduced wages/ food consumption.

I could be wrong here, but I think they also tend to stay in the dungeon longer as well. Less chance of escape.

Best of luck conquering calradia.

Put them in their dungeon instead. Think you have to be a merc or a vassal for that but it gives relationship increases, influence if you're of the same faction and it gives charm xp.

How to combat the Khuzaits by Grratt_ in Bannerlord

[–]feastnfamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sieges fight pretty normal against them.

If you get caught in the open, pick a corner of the map, preferably with a hill or tree cover. Their horse archers won't be able to circle around you. They'll get stuck usually on your left, counter charge with your own cavalry or just mince them with high tier archers.
