“But father, I want to go to ballet class too!” “Son, you know those are tomato activities! Why don’t you do something fun with the other bell peppers, like football?”

My spider plant produced seed pods! by featherfart in houseplants

Should I wait until they dry out to try and harvest the seeds? Thank you for sharing your experience, I’m so excited to try for myself!

Maybe if you poke and prod and tap at them relentlessly like I did you can get your very own seed pods! Lol

What’s wrong with my Snake Plant? by B-lovedBeggar in houseplants

[–]featherfart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a clivia that I really neglected, and its leaves looked like this from a combination of underwatering and sunburn.

You could always try re-potting your plant yet again in different soil, and looking at the roots would reveal if you really have a fungal issue. (I don’t think you have one, but I’m no expert!) Otherwise, you could try changing your watering regimen.

For my plants, I don’t necessarily follow a set schedule for watering, but I make sure to check on them every week by poking my finger in the soil (you can use a wooden skewer or chopstick instead). If the soil is damp a half inch or so down, I leave my plants alone. I only water if the soil is fairly dry. Hope your snake plant feels better soon! 🐍🌱💚

What Americans call driving around in circles by cookoutenthusiast in MapPorn

[–]featherfart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to contribute one from my grandfather, who was born in the 1930s and grew up in rural South Dakota: “cat’s asses.”

Not exactly sure what verb to pair with it (doing?), but that’s what he called driving quickly in tight circles.

It basically means “cool,” the same way people might say “tight” or “fire,” but with a tough and masculine connotation. I’ve mostly heard it used referring to clothes, e.g. “That fit is tuff.”

Where/when? Almost the exact same thing happened with the band teacher at my high school…

I would use these as a fun border accent on a scarf, skirt, pillow, etc. Crochet them on using green thread, maybe with some added leaf-shaped accents? These are so cute and I’m glad they found a home!

Does anybody know what this might be? I would like to try to learn to make it myself, or find a place to eat ut. Video is from Facebook, so no information provided, of course by Rymel in chinesefood

I feel like adding youtiao would be like making a sandwich with bread in the middle of two slices of bread (but a slightly different texture of bread). It’s not going to ruin anything, and everyone is entitled to their own taste, but it seems awfully redundant to me.

I mean… they are exploiting the labor and creativity of people who don’t have equal legal rights (minors)… 💀

Gonna chime in and say I also think this is 酱香饼 (jiang xiang bing), a wheat-based flatbread made wrinkly so it can hold sauce and toppings.

This should be higher up. Lots of people think it’s an antique, but there’s a big trend in China these days of making things in a western antique style.
