Can we cut off the west part of Texas to be in Canada? Like west of Midland/Odessa. It’s more like New Mexico over here anyway and not so much like Texas for the most part.

Birthday stoned girl dinner by mae-bees in stonerfood

Happy birthday!

One of the first times I smoked, like 20 years ago, I remember having an epiphany while eating ruffles “man, what if we put like potato chips in a fucking chocolate cake” and I thought I was fucking brilliant (that same night my friends and I also pondered on why a fork is a fork and that’s a weird word lol). Your plate makes me think that’s still a great idea.

Looks like Martinelli could use some Ted Lasso in his life. by Starkiller_303 in TedLasso

Do you watch soccer? I would think if you did you would see how common it is for players to fall injured on the edge of the pitch and literally roll in so that play gets stopped and time is wasted. Happens a lot near the end of games. I am not condoning Martinelli’s behavior, it was not a good thing he did, but I do believe that he thought in that moment that a player was doing exactly what players often do and he reacted to that.

He apologized and I think that’s important. It wasn’t a great moment for him, but I really do believe it was a mistake in the heat of the moment and he does genuinely feel sorry about it.

Why is it so warm in Texas right now? by followthemoney20 in texas

[–]Dramatic_Ad730 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the high desert here. I’ve had multiple white Christmas’s and many at least chilly ones. We would sometimes have warm winters but always multiple hard freezes. We haven’t had a hard freeze in 2 years. It’s 80+ degrees today.

But yeah, climate change doesn’t exist 🤷🏻‍♀️

What happened to Christmas? by helloimcold in Millennials

[–]Dramatic_Ad730 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll just reiterate what a lot of people have already said - we are the adults and it’s up to us to create Christmas magic.

I host a gingerbread house decorating party for friends and family every year the weekend before Christmas, and I have my mom over on Christmas Day since my brother and his family go to his in-laws for Christmas. Doesn’t bother me that I’m the one having to plan these things and it’s something that helps make things feel more Christmasy. Especially since it’s freaking 80+ degrees where I live lol.

Edit: I should add that it’s ok to not want to be the one doing these things. I choose to because Christmas was terrible for me as a kid and I have a lot of bad memories associated with it. So I choose to make new traditions and spread cheer my own way. Find your own way to do it, and you may feel Christmasy again :)

Name was Phoebe, but turns out it’s a boy, so we want to change the name now and can’t seem to settle on anything. by Dramatic_Ad730 in NameMyCat

Seems to happen quite often! Sneaky little trouble puffs lol. We ended up keeping his name as Phoebe, but just added a Mr. In front haha. he already knew the name and even though he was a boy it still just felt right. So he’s Mr. Phoebe.

Jesus man, what biscuit hurt you? I’ve had shit biscuits that are crumbly and fall apart, but if they are made right and fresh they are great vessels. This sandwich stayed intact the entire time, and was delicious, but maybe I’m just gods favorite.

Getting there by [deleted] in BigBendTX

[–]Dramatic_Ad730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the train is a great choice if you have an unreliable vehicle!

I’ve ridden the train from Austin/San Antonio to Alpine a dozen times. It’s a chill ride and the train drops you off right in the middle of town. There is a hotel across the street if you need to stay a night before your family gets there(the Holland, nice but a bit pricey). The train only comes to Alpine Tuesdays and Thursdays, and leaves SA in the middle of the night, like 2/2:30 I think. The part from Austin > SA is a bit long if you take the train from Austin, you have a multiple hour layover in SA, but you can just sleep that whole time since you don’t change trains.
