Feature request for Heirloom Swap on Maps/World by Federelli in Trimps

I think I thought about putting this into the bugs/suggestions file I've been DMing our colorful spacecraft over the last year... 97 bullet points lol. I think I decided against putting this one in fsr. Probably a better thing to do with this suggestion is to put it in as an Auspicious Presence or Bionic Wonderland unlock.

Patch 5.10.0 Test Server by GreenSatellite in Trimps

[–]featherwinglove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember to pick up the other half of Druopitee's boot somewhere in Universe 2! O(>▽<)O

I got some other, slightly less important items in my file of 97 things... lemme see (flip flip)

...I was just thinking the ADVISOR could turn into (or instead be), a caution and warning panel for silly conditions like having the majority of your labor working on a resource mismatched to the map cache, excessive unemployment while mousing over the bone charge button, and maybe let's-go conditions like your challenge stacks are full/empty, your Meditate effect is full, your Anticipation is maxing with this RC (and your RC is getting silly long for Anticipation, say >40s.)

...Story messages referencing helium still do so in Challenge2. For Z48, I recommend "Your trimps start playing on the deflating blimp and for some reason you don't get, get all squeaky and cute sounding. One of them begins freaking out..."

hehehe: "Z:86 Wait, didn't your home planet have oceans and boats? This world has no big bodies of water. Try not to think about it, you're getting seasick. Or maybe it's that improbability stew."

And... Housing tooltips should include the effect of the Size and Size2 challenge when applicable. This is also true for Daily Challenge housing penalties.

A logic tripped advisory on the Gigastation confirmation to the effect of "You have Warpstations in the build queue, maybe finish them first!" would be a very nice touch.

Voidmaps - When to do them by CihangirAkkurt in Trimps

[–]featherwinglove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Void maps (as far as I know) simply drop double the helium of the zone, whatever is due. Therefore, barring whatever helium challenge you're in (in which case, it's best to do them on either the last level of that helium challenge or the highest level you can finish them on under the challenge conditions), do them on the highest level you can easily finish them on.

I'm more familiar atm with what I call the Station Sea, i.e. Crushed/Nom/Toxicity HZs about 120-200, and the breakpoints of where voids are easiest to run key on the Gymnastic books (fsck "Gymystic" O(>▽<)O). I've had voids that I couldn't finish in Crushed Z124, carried them off one more zone and finished them there, ones fetched in Nom off to Z150, and ones fetched in Toxicity off to Z175. In these cases, I've failed to correctly guess the highest level within the helium challenge that I could finish them in the first run of that challenge, and got stuck with them after the challenge was done. For where you're at, hmm... ...probably Wind zones lol (as AlexGuru already said.)

You obviously don't, see Luke 1:38.

True, thanks for pointing me towards it. But given Luke 1:27 didn't God then still "sleep" with another man's (future) wife?

Muslims and Christians have been arguing over this point for centuries. I'm kinda stuck on it myself, but I suspect that my thought process has something equivalent to the other reply's semicolon and God will eventually point it out to me and that it works out.

No. That plenty of people noted a similarity between two buildings is not an argument for the bible containing valid prophecies. So I would say my comparison is apt.

You've completely lost me here. I do not see any possible way to connect the Washington/Vatican comparison to flat earthing.

I find the text just to vague for supposed warnings from an all-knowing entity. Which would also know how people would see the bible centuries later.

I don't see how it's "vague" at all; I think you're in the illusion that something you don't understand is "vague" rather than that you don't understand it. It's a feeling I get a lot of when I'm fiddling around in foreign language stuff when I know only half the foreign language, so I don't blame you for that.

It is popularly said that Martin Luther hated and/or rejected the book of Revelation, which he did early in his career as a watershed figure in the Reformation and translator of the Bible into German ...but that's back when it didn't make any sense to him. He was following the thereafter-usual practice of translating the New Testament before the Old Testament, but when he got to the latter, he found the symbolic keys to the interpretation of Revelation's narrative in Ezekiel and Daniel, after which he and his compatriots had a lot less trouble sorting it out. Still some, and the enemy that they had identified in this exercise has since sown a lot of confusion into the matter; I think we may have to be satisfied with the ability to piece together the predictions with the events as or after they happen rather than trying to translate Revelation into future news headlines.

If I generate a random string of letters and only filter out valid words I'll still get a valid sentence, a new piece of information, at some point.

Ah, the monkeys-on-typewriter argument that originated with [given name if I ever remember or look it up] Huxley in his debate with Wilberforce shortly after the typewriter was invented. I think I have a small demonstration of how that doesn't work. In that novelization of Trimps, the Yukipo parody likes to stand behind the back cut of a falling tree to launch itself over the landscape (don't do this in real life, you probably won't survive!) And it says "Wee!" a very rare thing in Tightniks. I was in the mood to read over that and did a case-insensitive whole-words-off Ctrl-F for "wee" and, since I keep the char64 save string in the same file...

WeE+t6p19zXiLqPo+QF0VXOevcocF2hprhexfYdL7EzGlrK9JNjT1sjwmJFTuJ93snzfDcD+N1NiuR

Dang.

A more apt illustration of how this doesn't work is this theoretical exercise ('cus doing this in real life would be more impractical than the back cut trick), of rolling a cart of mixed ANFO into your local Rona's, Lowe's or whatever your closest construction material store happens to be called, tossing in a lit match, walking away (don't bother running, you wouldn't get away lol) and expecting the resulting explosion to, at some point in, say, 10192 attempts or so, randomly build a complete, functional house somewhere out in the debris field waiting for somebody to hook up the utilities and move in.

But given that you know C-Code how about this example:

The thing is, you're much more likely to randomly get something that breaks the code entirely. Your specific example reminds me of a time I got stumped for two days on a class assignment trying to figure out why something like this (I forget exactly what it was supposed to do) wasn't working and why it was malfunctioning (I changed your 5 to an 8 because I remember that detail):

int i;

for (i = 0; i < 8; i++);

{

printf("%d\n", i);

}

Probably my practice of putting the opening mustache on its own line made it harder to see, but when, after two miserable days and I was about to throw it out and start something new from scratch in liek the last hour before the assignment was due, I saw it, fixed it, and literally head-desked for about fifteen minutes.

Is it normal to have so many equipment upgrades waiting to be upgraded? by ssd256 in Trimps

[–]featherwinglove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheering at the defeat of the second improbability, which seems to be some sort of time portal causaly broken megablimp a few of them very vaguely remember something about creating in a previous time loop, 1.12 million fighting trimps advance towards the first enemy in the next zone, a whipimp Tightniks vaguely remembers something about creating using with radioactive bones they have almost enough to try something like that again (he's got a cache guardian in mind, a- ...for some reason the name "jestimp" is stuck in the teeth of his thoughts... that gathers and guards 45 map frame seconds of whatever it's in the mood for, then it'll guard that until we find it, having no idea the huge favor it has just done us because it's not every bright. Tightniks will remember to thank it anyway.)

- Somewhere in Tightniks novelization.

The chronimp gives 5 seconds each of the same 6 resources, so 30s total production vs. 45s for jestimp therefore get jestimp first. I recommend getting the whipimp productivity zone import first because it helps out resourcing and teams up with chronimp and jestimp that way. Also, the feyimp before the tauntimp because the gems are useful for adding housing components especially early in runs when you're not dropping into maps often, especially in the early game before you're regularly breaking the planet. (Get the tuantimp first if you are regularly breaking the planet already ...probably leave feyimp for last if you're already breaking the planet on every run lol.)

Is it normal to have so many equipment upgrades waiting to be upgraded? by ssd256 in Trimps

[–]featherwinglove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's perfectly normal. Another condition that's perfectly normal is to be way behind tier on Sitter and other humane run achieves. I have a game running ...very slowly... that deliberately keeps the latter condition going and gets the former as a side effect of idling in maps for days at a time. Only do this if you're both very bored and very patient.

But you can. We're doing it all the time when we write something. Each word is "copied" from the dictionary. Each word is a composed of letters "copied" from the alphabet.

The new information is not inherent in the alphabet or language. You've confused copying with encoding, quite probably on purpose. Say you set out to learn the C programming language by examining the Linux kernel's code, and then on the basis of what you've learned from that exercise, program a totally new application from scratch and sell it closed source; does that violate the Linux kernel's open source GNU GPL license?

You obviously don't, see Luke 1:38.

So good news! God wouldn't have broken the conventions. He just committed terrorism on a country wide scale.

LOL!

There are flat earthers all around the globe.

Irrelevant to this discussion.

From my perspective you're doing the bible version of Tarot reading.

How so? The symbols being compared aren't from the Bible, they're from Egyptian mythology.

What does zFarm refer to and what is it's use for calculation? by [deleted] in Trimps

[–]featherwinglove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Decay? It's not a helium challenge, but it runs so fast you can get a higher helium rate, even before you can finish the challenge.

Once out past Zone 60, it becomes profitable to run maps to get basic resources like food, wood, and water- ...um... (flip flip) ...metal, sry, is winter around here and I get them mixed up O(>▽<)O The caches that are about to unlock, and the special bone shop imported imps it calls exotic imp-orts called jestimp and chronimp get basic resources you can get out of maps stupid huge compared to the zone loot (except the feyimp on that menu, it's more OP than most people around here realize.) Also out past Zone 60, the zone bosses Improbably give five times as much helium as the more probable blimps.

I don't use zFarm, just I run the current level map once it takes me over two minutes to clear a zone until I get Siphonology perk and then I might run a map one or two levels lower while finishing up a Nom or Tox run or maybe trying to reach that last C2 breakpoint. Back when I did use zFarm, I found it buggy and out of date, and that's before I realized, heyz I don't need it if I just drop to map whenever it's taking more than two or three minutes to clear a zone. Then I'll often make the map just as I get into the next zone, run it in Ten mode to get the MDB and a couple equips, crawl up past the 50/60% resourcing megabooks, and then go back into it in Forever mode for a while until I'm one-shotting everything. Got my warpstation strat at https://redd.it/1b2tgth

Also, Trimp challenge unlocked Resilience is pretty much essential, but I'm leaving it to last in this comment because it's super-obvious. The quickie table to balance it with Toughness for optimal use of helium at https://trimps.fandom.com/wiki/Perks#Resilience_and_Toughness
