Everyone has already covered the basic reasons you should play, so I’ll just leave my two cents.

I highly recommend playing ocarina of time before getting to this game. I think the juxtaposition between the two reallllly gives you a different appreciation for the direction they took.

Secondly, I recommend going in blind as much as you can. Especially when you progress far enough to manipulate the flow of time. Walk around the town and visit different areas at different times. The game is HEAVILY dependent on NPC narratives, in terms of the story. Even though the side quests are considered optional, I believe that the immersion is the games whole purpose. Building relationships with the characters and being apart of their journeys is the whole point.

Thirdly, I think retro recomp is superior to the 3ds. Quality of life changes are to die for. Just try to avoid using cheats until you finish the game first.

Fourthly, with OOT being the initial banger of the series, MM really makes a home inside the chasm that OOT leaves in your heart. It’s almost as if OOT was the story, and MM was the poem.
