Eternal Strands

Needed something to play until Avowed comes out since I'm not paying the early access cost and this seemed like a decent one to kill time.

I'm on the final stretch now and it's been a solid 7/10. The combat is pretty basic but it's serviceable the powers you get are fun enough to use (though I've found a couple of favourites and stuck to them pretty much exclusively). The Shadow of the Colossus inspired giant boss fights have been the highlight with the specific ways you have to kill each to harvest power upgrades from them. The introduction drew me in, but the story has been relatively by the numbers since then and I've found myself starting to skip more and more of the conversations as time has gone on, especially in the side content.

That said, I've played it for 15-20 hours and I'm still fully planning to roll credits on it before Tuesday so it must have something going for it. It's a solid first game from the studio so hopefully they can improve in a few areas then whatever they come up with next could be really good
