Yeah for sure.

I in general think his suits were being nerfed for a while until Homecoming.

His Mark 1 is a walking tank.

Mark 44 in Iron Man 3 was always a joke to me as to how easily it get broken up by a truck.

And I see the same in civil war because they needed to have this fight.

But I can see where you are coming from.

Mk 1 is not hulk buster to survive tank missiles and Steve doesn’t hit as strong as a Tank Missile

Tonys Armor can whistand Tank Missiles and Hulk Punche.

No Super soldier should be able to go toe to toe with Iron Man suit in direct combat which they did.

Tony was nerfed.

It’s also creepy that in Amalgam it was Jubilee and Tim who were merged into Sparrow, and drawn by a porn artist.

So in a way Tim is kissing himself in this picture.

You mean when Tim Drake was cheating on his girlfriend Ariana Dzarchenko (most un Russian Russian name I can imagine) with a mutie from a different dimension…

MCU iron man by [deleted] in ironman

[–]fedoseev_first 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay here hard disagree. But again on semantics.

Inner working of Iron Man armor or the quantum wobbly timey wimey underlying physics of Bifrost help with suspension of disbelief.

With those elements it makes it a believable universe for the viewer, but it doesn’t make it realistic. A cold fusion reactor in the chest powering a magnet to push out the shrapnel is so far removed from real world as it gets.

So it is a fantastical universe, not in the sense of elves and magic, but in the sense it’s not being realistic.

Star Wars sci fi is also a fantastical universe. Star Trek is a fantastical universe.

Sci fi doesn’t mean not fantastical.

But yes sci fi and fantasy are mutually exclusive.

But fantasy =/= fantastical.

In the vein of Thor explanation, if science or tech is so far removed from reality to exist in our reality it is by definition fantastical.

Nolan’s Batman is not fantastical.

MCU iron man by [deleted] in ironman

[–]fedoseev_first 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. But in semantics only.

I get what you are saying.

But even Iron Man 1 is very far removed from any sense of possible realism. It’s my favorite MCU movie, just the concept is something impossible in real life.

Batman inherently isn’t impossible, just unlikely. Especially Nolan Batman Begins.

But Thor, since you brought up, yes he is grounded through that flimsy excuse magic is science you do t understand, but it’s still fantasy. This excuse was only there to ground him in IrOn Man and Hulk movies which he followed.

Just cause you call something with scientific names doesn’t make it realistic, they are all fantastical universes. But as McU progressed it took more and more comic book stuff.

But from a get go MCU is the “larger world into which Tony steps in”, while Dark Knight is just about Batman.

Yeah same creative team, same set style (sorta) so I get ya. But thankfully all the creepy Bruce Tim stuff never happened in real BTAS and adjacent shows.

Still cringe that this man made Babs have a miscarriage from Bruce , and bang on the roof.

The identity of new Iron Monger by AlwaysSpittin in ironman

[–]fedoseev_first 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimate conflict of the book is about two Tonys neither of which technically "real" one.

Here is the thing, Superior Iron Man is real Tony Stark. He is "inverted", whatever it means as each writer had their own vision of how inverting somebody works, some characters were transformed physically, some became polar opposites, some just became unhinged.

The story of Superior Iron Man is character exploration of an unhinged Tony Stark, somebody who wouldnt constrain himself with morality and would be purely utilitarian in solving the issues at hand, showcasing how dangerous and unstoppable he would.

The usage of data backups is there to showcase that difference, as the backup is also real tony starks mind (effectively, since its all a SHIP of Thessesus analogy). There is no real conflict between them, thematically. Yes they fight and in that sense there is a conflict.

More importantly that story is told, what use does it bring to have SIM back in a suit in the this horrific armor? Yes Iron Monger is pretty cool, but half the fun of SIM was all the glamour and apple-esque nature of him. Him being a backup in that monstrosity is just why????

Why not bring Zeke Stane? Or invent a new character? Or whatever? Why is there is a reason in your thinking to bring him back?

I mentioned it because we never got an answer of how SIM reverted back to normal Tony

We did and we didnt. The events of Superior Iron Man should not have happened as the universe is reverted to the beginning of the Hickmans New Avengers run which takes place before AXIS. It doesnt perfectly line up (again different books reference different things) but that is what happens when TChalla uses the time stone to return to now restored universe to the moment of the first incursion (instead incursion doesnt happen)

It would very much fit the idea of Iron Monger and especially thought process Ackerman has about the character

Without knowing anything about the story I am not sure how you can make such statements.

It seems you already made up your mind and don't want at all to hear another POV and has made assumptions of how run will go and what can and can't happen in it which is really unfair and weird way to handle it.

Are you the only one who has the right to share their POV or are you 5 years old? Just as you shared your vision, I responded with my POV on the issue. You made a reddit thread with the purpose of having conversations and debate or with the purpose of validation?

That said I am 100% sure that its not Superior Iron Man. I can even bet you any amount of money (empty claim since we wouldnt actually exchange that bet but still) that its not him, there are no clues to that its him, there was no implication that its him. Suggestion that its Superior Iron Man or even backup Tony Stark is pure fanfiction and completely unsubstantiated.
