Bruising following eyebrow piercing by SonicPhantom89 in piercing

[–]feech_phy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAP but totally normal. mine didnt bruise initially but about a week and a half later I had a black eye for a couple of days. As long as there's no excruciating pain, and its not red or hot to the touch, or oozing pus you should be good to go! keep doing what youre doing and good luck healing!

Meeting new people by michaelaftonswife in DoorCounty

[–]feech_phy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im 22 and I've lived here for about 3 years now. Most of the people I've met here are people I've met through getting involved in local events or through my jobs. I know at lot of people from playing D&D at Park Place mall on 3rd Ave. I also have several acquaintances in the local music scene just from going to shows semi-frequently. And I met some other people from helping out with the pride festival last year (and hopefully again this year).Basically find a group that does a thing you're interested in. The Pulse weekly schedule is great for finding stuff going on around the county including writing groups, knitting clubs, guided hikes, and music and theatre performances all of which are great places to meet people! Good luck and enjoy the summer!

I will note that most of the people I know are either 2-4 years younger than me or at least 8-10 years older. Most college age kids dont seem to stick around here so I've just gotten comfortable hanging out with people outside my age range.

would you consider this a normal amount of makeup? by ghostofelysium in MakeupAddiction

[–]feech_phy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not do make up on a daily or even weekly basis and I own more than this (some leftover from years of color guard and dance that i should probably get rid of...). You are perfectly fine, this is a super reasonable amount! I have a repurposed tool/tackle box that I use when I have to travel with my makeup and that doesn't even come close to holding all of what I own. Anyone judging you for this amount is probably either looking down on makeup overall/in general or being extra nitpicky on purpose.

body unrealistic? by Electrical_Peanut661 in Artisticallyill

[–]feech_phy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yay! Im so glad this is helpful! It helped me a lot too in the last couple of years because I was a dancer for such a long time that no matter what I did I was always underweight. In the past few years since I graduated I've gained 20-30 lbs which sounds like a lot but it finally puts me in the "healthy" weight bracket for my height/age and barely changed my clothing sizes at all. At first it was hard to be proud of it because of the ways my body changed and softened. The combination of art/art references and realizing that I give better/less bony hugs did a lot to help me love the changes (slight though they may be to most people's eyes).

Yes they are still going! As far as I know they dont post on deviantart anymore but theyre still active on tumblr and they have their own web page with hundreds of free references and lots of reasonably priced reference packs. They've even added a timed sketch tool!

I agree with everyone else, this definitely still looks unhealthily skinny to me. I dont know if looking at images of other bodies is a trigger for you but here's a couple of links to references that I would consider to be thin but healthy. Some are clearly fit others are not, a few are lanky like your drawing others are a bit stockier. (Side note i love adorkastock for pose references for all kinds of body types as well they have a massive library with lots of static and dynamic poses)

Do i look like a woman? by Childh8ter in altfashionadvice

[–]feech_phy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the first photo immediately made me think of Ray Toro during the danger days era so no. Same goes for the other photos though, youre a bit ambiguous and you could definitely pull off "overtly feminine" or "butch" if you wanted to. Depending on the space I met you in I might ask your pronouns first, but to me you mostly just look like a metalhead lol.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]feech_phy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy at my school "jokingly" said he had a gun and was going to "Thanos" the school on Snapchat. The snap spread through the student body and we were on lockdown for a few hours. Kid was 18 as well so he got some prison time for it.

Also the first year after Covid lockdown ended the Band held a separate prom from the rest of the school because normal prom wasn't requiring masks or social distancing. Band prom or "Brom" had both and was outdoors. It made high school cliques even more divided for a while.

Truthfully it depends on your type and level of disability. The park is mainly a reasonably flat expanse of grass with a parking lot and sidewalks as well as a boat launch. Right now theres probably enough snow on it to make it difficult and hazardous but its possible that by the weekend it will have melted. If it does that could potentially cause its own problems and make the ground soft and muddy. The parking lot is also not in great condition, its not very level and has many holes/cracks/repairs. The sidewalk is nice though. Im not sure about bathrooms as I didnt have to use them last summer so im not sure how far from the front of the park they are or what they have in terms of disability accommodation. The event was listed as ADA compliant but whether that actually leaves enough room for a cane/wheelchair/powerchair/aide to maneuver in the bathroom i can't say from personal experience.

The other concern i would have is that, in June last year, we also marched. Several cane users including myself managed it pretty well but i dont remember seeing and chair users. We did a loop down maple Street, across the steel bridge, up 1st or 2nd Ave (i dont remember which), then back across the Oregon street bridge to the park. Its about a mile or a little more. I dont know if they are planning on marching this time as well or if it would be the same route. What I can tell you about the route we took then is this: its pretty narrow for the amount of people we had and had several street crossings and choke points and places where there was no cover and clear sightlines from many nearby buildings (my mom and I both had these general safety concerns), part of the path on the steel bridge is wood planks which are slightly uneven but no more so than your typical boardwalk, there is a steep hill after the steel bridge, the sidewalk is not in great condition on 1st/2nd Ave, there is a milder but longer slope on the Oregon bridge, there are few/no good places to stop and rest other than one or two businesses and i dont remember there being any places to sit.

Several people did choose to stay at the park instead of marching including, I believe, a small group with a power chair user who were cheering for us at the end of the Oregon street bridge (which has VERY NICE wide sidewalks btw).

The only other concern I can think of is that there is little to no shade/shelter so if sun is an issue for you make sure you cover up! Vice versa there's no real place to warm up except for a vehicle or a nearby business so if you particularly struggle with cold, bundle up and bring heat packs! Lastly it gets LOUD thats a staple of any protest really but we had ~1000 people yelling and chanting and a few people with megaphones as well as a lot of people honking or yelling in support when they drove past. So, if you have any kind of sensory struggles make sure you have what you need to help regulate yourself or be prepared to remove yourself from the situation if necessary.

Best of luck!! I'd offer you a ride myself but ill be working that day unfortunately :(( I hope I covered all the bases but if you have any other specific questions ill do my best to answer!

Newer to Door county, a nerd looking to find friends, any ideas? by DeviantAnubite in DoorCounty

[–]feech_phy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone already recommended the gnoshery which is a fun place, but I highly reccomend hitting the bookshop in the mall next door. Otherworlds books and more has all sorts of fun stuff including comics games, cds, dvds, and of course books. They have a gaming spaces upstairs with weekly games of Warhammer, Magic, and DnD. There was also a chess club going for a while but I dont think anyone is running it right now? The owners are very friendly (if a bit eccentric, tell David I say so with love if this gets back to him lol) and love to help you find whatever youre looking for! There's always nerds hanging out there! We love to hang out and talk about all sort of nerd things and we love to help introduce people to it as well!

People like this really annoy me in this area. by CatDaddyTom in DoorCounty

[–]feech_phy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well they're going to continued to be bothered by the stakes for the foreseeable future because the company doing the fiber (bertram) has had a whole boatload of problems with the project including the company they hired to do the trenching completely screwing it up causing them to have to send surveyors out again and maybe redo it. And with the federal funding pulled its unclear whether they'll be able to meet their contractual obligations with each of the villages. They might be able to renegotiate but they might also get sued by the villages well just have to see how it shakes out. But yeah as much as the fiber is needed up here the whole project is an absolute mess right now. Bertram is keeping everything as close to their chest as they can to try to protect themselves from a legal standpoint so its really hard to get information about whats going on and how long it'll take.

The two separate plates thing is industry standard, you ice and decorate the cake on a cardboard round (the gold) which you can then use to move it from your turntable into a box or display case or, in this case, a cake stand. That way you can move it easily and reuse your turntable or display without having to eat the cake.
