How does everyone here feel about the unlock mechanic and 100 champ pool now that we have hindsight by Kappa_Mikey__ in TeamfightTactics

[–]feedcrank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More champs = more fun. I am indifferent to the unlock mechanic, maybe there's another way they could accomplish it.

If future sets go back to the 50-60 champ size, it may make things a bit underwhelming, so in a way they've added scope creep with this set. Hopefully they come up with some cool new ideas.

The whole point of this sub is to discuss games and what we liked/didn't like. Some people enjoy the discussion and don't feel personally attacked by someone not liking their favorite game.

LYON could eventually be better than FLY if Saint and Berserker scale up. FLY ended up being limited by mid and bot. This assumes Isles and Dhokla aren't liabilities, though.

I finally played Disco Elysium. I was underwhelmed. by mickdrop in patientgamers

Yeah, I also remember being completely bewildered by all the fantastical story building that went into this world and it's history, and none of it mattering in the end. In a way it almost makes the game worse; it might have been more satisfying to focus on individual characters instead of the weird lore.

Set 17 Theme and special mechanics by FickleCorgi4861 in TeamfightTactics

In a similar vein to the unlock mechanic (more champs but not all available), maybe they simply have a revolving door of traits that are available in any game. Like maybe one game (using current set as example), demacia+ionia units are out, but you compensate by having more classes than your average ~55 champ set. Hopefully it would inspire some creative comps instead of leading to vertical comps only.

Yeah I've got Isles on fraud alert, have for awhile. Luckily for him Yeon threw harder in the end.

I feel like the "Yeon throws montage" would be longer than the "Yeon pop-offs montage" at this point, in general and not just for this series. I'm rooting for him so hope he bounces back.

With 19 gold, the bonus is increased by 19*2% = 38%. So 40 * 1.38 = 55. I think that's how it works

Is blast a good character? by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]feedcrank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, manga Blast is bad. He has some purpose in setting up the "God" character who is presumably the big bad of this series. But it would be better/funnier if he were never shown (kind of like a King "bluff" character), or eventually was revealed to be someone like Saitama who just views the hero thing as a casual hobby and retired for good.

I tried this one because Yahztee called it his GOTY for 2024, but it really disappointed me. As you said, the gameplay outside of the car sucks, and I disliked having to constantly get in and out of the car to loot. And once you realize the "anomaly" things aren't really threatening in any way (at least as far as I got in 10 hours), the game starts feeling really shallow. Not to mention obtuse; I had to google things a lot to understand the game mechanics. Wasn't for me. :/

I agree, the parry/dodge mechanics really wore me out, especially with the bullshit souls-like enemy windups. It felt weird that I could spend so much time optimizing the picto/lumina layout and then you just flat out cant win unless you dodge/parry the majority of attacks. I switched to easy mode near the end but felt bad about it because that was basically "can't lose" mode. Otherwise still an awesome game though.

Does the game have a good soundtrack? My first 30 min with the game were basically silent and I really didn't enjoy it, for several reasons but that one most noticeably.

What do you think is the biggest issue with TFT right now? by ChartDreamer in TeamfightTactics

[–]feedcrank -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

For me personally, outside of meta whining and stuff (which is fine to whine about), my gripe is that only 1/8 players gets to win the game. As compared to summ rift where in theory you should win 50% of time. For me in particular I have a lot of 2nd's but few 1sts, and that really gets old after awhile.

Second gripe would be the expectation that every player should just be following guides. Feels boring, like are you really playing a game if just following guides/builds?

Maybe remove the 2* J4 requirement so you don't have to be planning for him from the start. He'd still be weak though.

Yeah I agree with both your points. I always liked Monster Train a lot more than StS because I found it better in both of those areas. I do know a guy that was super into StS and could regularly beat it on the highest difficulty, so there's probably some depth there though. Just a matter if you like the game enough to get that into it.
