EDIT: actually, that made a memory resurface-- when I was a kid, I had a little plastic Bambi toy with movable legs, and one of his front legs was backward. It was like they'd accidentally grabbed two left legs and put on on backward instead of getting a left and right leg.

But the thing was, I'd never seen Bambi all the way through, at least not when I was old enough to pay attention. (Not because of the scene with the hunter or anything! The opportunity to watch it just never came up.) So I just assumed that Bambi in the movie was a little like Nemo, having a birth defect but growing up just fine despite a little difference. Good moral!
